Clay pellets with my soil?

  1. I went to my local hydro store and got a bag of ewc and wanted some lava rocks or something similar to use for aeration. Hydro guy said he had clay pellets that everyone used to help drainage. I usually don't buy shit unless I look into it first but trusted this guy. Wondering now if I made a mistake. What do you guys think? Clay pellets good to use in organic soil mix??? Thanks!!

  2. If I find on sale, broken bags, yes I do. My soil is full of them.

  3. Meh

Won't hurt, but doubt you'll use them a second time.

  4. Don't have to use them a second time since you can reuse the soil itself, clay bits work fine for aeration. Diversity's always a great thing in soil.

  5. I've added them in before just to get rid of a bag. They worked great. I've always hated the look of perlite on my planters though. I did rinse them really well with RO water, just like I do with my perlite.
