Centroid of an Airplane wing

  1. Anyone know how to find the centroid of an airplane wing?

I've googled this an can not find one.

The problem I'm having with watching videos on centroids is that none deal with shapes as weird as an airplane wing.

For an engineering project I have to find the centroid of the wing I designed

The wing is 5'' by 8''.

I split it up into 10 sections .8'' wide.

    Can anyone help?

  2. fill a tub with water, measure the volume of the wing.

    then dye the water black

dip the wing in untill half the volume is submerges

  3. If you have a miniature model of the wing, try to balance it on your finger. The centroid of the wing will be the exact point of its center of mass.
