Censorship.

  1. where do we draw the line? what is acceptable to be shown? can anyone be expected to define for us what is and what is not acceptable?

  2. do you mean picture wise here at the city?.......or in general life?......Peace out........Sid

  3. its never going to satisfy everyone. whats entertaining for one can easily be morally wrong and discusting to another.

with the differances from generation to generation, and opinions of Women, Men, Children, and Adults/Seniors alike, i dont think a common consensus could ever be made.

Some appreciate janet jacksons breasts, some would try to sue the NFL because of it. People are raised to differantly for our ENTIRE society to agree on any type of censorship.

I guess the best bet is to eliminate the extremes and hope people can agree on a middle like level, some bleeped out swears and a bit of pointless violence edited from the tape, doesnt hurt anyone, and keeps alot of people from bitching in our ears.

  4. swearing is okay in my books. i don't know why people would censor out words. just put the show on later so kids are too tired to watch it. nudity is fine but hardcore porn on tv is not unless you're paying for the channel and have some kind of password to watch it.

the following things are outright wrong:
    old people showing their goods
    young kids showing their goods
and old people showing their goods.
and people actually dying that's sick

  5. Majority should rule, that is as long as I'm a part of it.

  6. I agree with most of that but I see nothing wrong with anybody showing their goods (I am a nudist) and since I'm one of the old people mentioned, my goods may not be the greatest to look at but no one has to look, either. We all have the same equipment, so whats the big deal.
    :smoke:

  7. hah, i just meant that it's nasty and no one should ever see that lol

  8. any censorship is a DIRECT attack on freedom of speach. you cannot have both.

  9. sensorship sucks, fuck it

    who cares really

  10. censorship is neccessary in small amounts because small children dont have the capacity to deal with what they hear and see in a mature and resonable fashion.

However ... censorship does suck. Im pretty split down the middle on the subject at this point.

  11. With out a certain amount of censorship, the world would be completely chaotic...

There is no strict guide lines to go by, but everyone should be nice to others.. Having a conversation is one thing, but getting mad and calling people names is unacceptable...

The only way to be fair is majority rules...

Or the owner of the place where you are at the time...

  12. Since it is so easy today, to be able to access anything, anytime by anyone, I have to agree. Maybe not necessarily in outright censorship but more along the lines of guidance, mostly for the children. Even some adults could use some guidance!
