Cannabutter Help

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by DankBarbie, Mar 24, 2011.

  1. I just made some cannabutter last night using the recipe found in the Pot Culture book.
Basically, all I had to do was heat up a large pot of water, almost full, add a half a pound of butter, 6g of dank, and simmer for 3-6 hours.

I simmered the mixture for 3 hours and the result was a dark-greenish brown mixture.
I let that sit over night, scraped off the top, poured out the extra liquid, melted the sediment and top layer together, then let it cool in a glass jar.

It smells a little bit like dank burnt butter. Is that how it should smell? There is a ton of kif in it and it looks really dank, I'm just worried about it being burnt and was wondering if it is still alright to use?

Also, does the double-boiler method work better or create a better tasting cannabutter?
