Canada Involved With US Interests in Central & South America

  1. I knew South America was next on the agenda for the USA, but didn't realise how involved Canada has become. Harper sucks balls.

War on drugs draws Canadian military focus in Central America - Politics - CBC News

  2. Canada? In a war?

    That's a laugh.

To quote a famous comedian, our Salvation Army could kick their ass.

  3. Wow, shows how much you know.

When the US tried to invade back in 1812 we kicked their ass.

During the Croatia/Serb crisis in Medak Pocket, the Canadian contingetn of the UN was the only nation to stay and advance through artillary fire, The other contingetns would retreat at the first sign of conflict.

We kicked ass in WW2. Taking many objectives that the British and USA couldn't accompolish.

If we are in the fight watch out. But no we won't illegally invade other countries like the USA does on a regular basis.

  4. What.......... can you cite some sources? If your country was Russia you might have a claim there but I doubt anybody in Nazi Germany was screaming about the invading Canadians....

  5. Hmmm, well let's see, for starters the Battle of Dieppe, two years before D-Day. Canadians took over the beach without any sort of support from naval bombardment.

Canadians were the ones that took Juno beach on D-Day.

They liberated European cities from their occupiers.

Canadians were in the fight long before the USA decided to get involved.

  6. Our neighbors to the north share both the US's complicity in genocide and support for repressive dictatorships in the Middle East/North Africa. But Canada didn't participate much in the invasion and occupation of Iraq and generally they're less of a rogue nation than the US, so good for them.

  7. Well its about time.

Ever since bush took over America hasn't paid much attention to the threats just to our south all throughout Latin America. Most of the governments down there have grown fed up with the unwillingness of America to help since without the u.s. afterall, all these drugs would have no where to go.

If the u.s. wont legalize drugs the least they can do is help take down cartels..

  8. Threats?

The drug cartels our only there because we empower them.

The war on drugs is a bigger joke then the war on terror.

Obama sold a lot.of guns to Mexican drug cartels

All we have to do to get rid of the cartels is legalize all drugs. Boom end drug war and reduce crime and reduc3eall drug hse

  9. Canada didn't participate at all in the Iraq invasion. We were there in Afghanistan, which was justfiable, be we didn't touch Iraq.

Whenever I think of canadian military I think of the rebels in star wars on that snow planet when they get invaded by the imperials

Some small countries were famous for small units or single units doing very difficult tasks in ww2. Like "simho yayha" was a netherlands sniper who used a modded kar im pretty sure..if not a nagnat, but it had no scope on it..just iron sights. I think he has a few hundred confirmed kills in a time where it snowed heavily and had only just a few hours of daylight.

  11. the canadians sent a little over a million troops compared to 13 million american troops.

canada certainly was an integral part of the war effort and the group at juno beach were one of the fiercest fighting troops in the war, but come on...

  12. But come on what?

The US has over 10 times the population of Canada. We are not going to start to send over people that are not able bodied.

And with the Pearl Harbour attack, it wasn't surprising that so many were sent from the US.

  13. Not true. Wikileaks revealed that Canada had a role in the Iraq invasion, although it was a small role, all while Chrétien was publicly proclaiming Canada had no role in the invasion.

  14. but then how can we fill prisons?

  15. Sorry, but didn't see any proof in the links. Canada may very well behind closed doors agreed to secretly help the USA with the Iraqi operation, but the could have been just politics. Saying what the US wanted to hear.

The presence in the the strait of Hormuz would have happened due to Canada being in Afghanistan.

  16. Really? Playing politics was what Chrétien was doing in public. Behind closed doors they were behind the invasion of Iraq, but as I've said, in a small role. The Yahoo/CBC article is very clear that Canada had a role in the Iraq War, citing diplomatic cables and quotes from Canadian and US officials.

If for whatever reason you're not buying the Wikileaks cables, here's something else you may be interested in.
