I have been looking up common popular women's vitamins like One-A-Day and they all come up short on Vitamin D or Calcium or something women really need in their diet. Are there any brands I should look for in my health food stores here?
You don't want excess calcium, it can lead to calcification of arteries. Calcium from your daily intake of animal based foods should be enough, especially for women. Do NOT take a calcium or iron supplement together with a multi that has calcium and/or iron already, because excess iron and calcium is bad for your heart. excess calcium calcification - Google Scholar excess calcium calcifiction - Google Search excess iron in body - Google Scholar
That's what I use everyday. No complaints here and my iron level is finally high enough that I can donate blood on a regular basis. I did have to take an iron supplement for awhile despite using a multi vitamin. My doctor told me my iron was way too low for awhile.
