Can I use 400w on my seedlings?

    My 8 seedlings are just emerging from soil and, because I don't have enough CFLs, they are beginning to stretch already. Would it fry them if I put them under my 400 HPS SON-T bulb now. If I can use it, how far away from the plants, if I can't then when can I? Thanks for your help GC-ers

    I've read varying opinions on this, but if you have no other option, you should be fine as long as you have the lights at least 3ft. above the little beauties. I've had my 400w MH on my 4 sprouts since they popped through and they seem to be just fine.

    Yes you can. Newly sprouted seedlings can be put under full sun straight away, so a mere 400W is no problem.
