Can I still use my broken ashcatcher?

    My ashcatcher's stem (where it slides down the bong) just cracked... although I can still use it, it's not "air-tight." Meaning if I cap my thumb over the ashcatcher hole I can still breathe in air from the space around the stem. Can i still use it?
