Hi, Sorry don't know if this is right section to post but anyway, I have this human health food called Blue Green Algae, It's basically powder full with vitamins, minerals and supplements. Anyway my dad used it on some tomatoes and they turned out massive so I was curious if it would work on my plant. Here are the nutritional facts per 3g (teaspoon) 2.1g protein 0.6g carbohydrate 15mg beta carotene 3.0mg vitamin b12 2.4mg iron 5.6mg sodium 15mg calcium 18mg magnesium 42mg potassium 510mg phycocyanin 45mg chlorophyll 30mg GLA 2.5mg zeaxanthian 12 calories of energy There are no other ingredients, to me that looks ok, (I have no grown before) and was thinking of giving 0.75g of the algae a week. Then my friend told me about nute burn so I thought I would ask you guys! Thanks in advance
Way too much protein and carbohydrates. I would not recommend putting this into your babies. N-P-K all the way.
NPK rating (or N-P-K) is used to label fertilizer based on the relative content of the chemicals nitrogen(N), phosphorus(P), and potassium(K) that are commonly used in fertilizers.
That will be awesome stuff to use as a supplement, just every now and then. Your main standbys are alwayz NPK tho. Freak
I knew youd ask that lol. Hmmmm...maybe once a month. U have to remember, the plant will get most of those vits and minerals from the soil, so u could run into probs if u overuse. Carbs are great for weed. So is protein. Growers who use molasses are feeding strait-up carbs. Freak
Ahhh ok should I put some in with soil when I plant seed though and how much when I use it the teaspoon? Thanks
I wouldnt plant the seedlings into it. They need very little in the way of sustenance for the first couple of weeks - or until the 3rd true leaf set emerges. I feel that it might be too much for the young plants. I liken it to feeding weight lifter steroids to a newborn baby . When the plants are feeding well off of your regular NPK nutes, then is the time to introduce it. Sound alright ??? Freak
IMO, The main reason I like that stuff is cuz of the vitamin B12. Vitamin B and its derivatives are proven to help promote awesome root mass. Thats what its all about - more roots = more budz. Freak
Thanks so much for all this help, I'm defo listening to ya! Saw your sticky so I know you know your stuff with you going to uni to do biology! Anyway I'm repping for sure
Thanx. Im truly humbled. I try to give back more than I receive. Its good for my soul. Are u in London UK, or Canada ??? Freak
Lol. At first, I laughed at the Stormtrooper. Now, it makes me queasy looking at it haha. Thats right funny stuff man. Freak
Ya, its a silly rule - no animations. I had a couple of great avatars I wanted to try, but no go. I guess in a way it makes sense. Running a massive site like this must cost mucho dinero. Freak
Ironic u ask. I wuz gonna ask u what types of pests u have in the UK. I would venture to guess that they would be quite adapted to damp conditions. Bugs really have no preference. They will eat weed, just like they do other fruits and veggies. Opportunists, colonizers and explorers. Without them, our world would die rather quickly - now thats ironic !!! Freak
