camping in NC

  1. anyone here know any good campsites in NC?

  2. The blue ridge parkway is beautiful but would be cold now.

  3. I've lived down there for a while. Hanging Rock state park has some nice, ez-to-access camping grounds, and there is a bathing lake nearby.

Otherwise, there are plenty of areas in and around Asheville that would make for good camping.

  4. When are you planning on going? Right now it’s getting pretty cold to camp down here in the south. Maybe if you went down to Savannah, Tybee Island or even Florida. Today was fabulous though. It’s kind of hit or miss. Would also depend on your tent and what degree weather your sleeping bag is rated.

  5. I know of a great campsite in South Carolina.
Asheville would be great area, the mountains are beautiful and there is fun stuff to do. The Biltmore is close by, Smokey Mountain National Park is about a two hour drive, maybe a bit more. I’ve read a lot about Blowing Rock. I really want to go there.
