Back in 2014 I went to my first (the fifth annual) California Roots fest at the famous Monterey County fairgrounds. There were SO many good bands there, aside from the headliners, a handful stood out to me: Katastro, Krooked Treez, Nahko, and these guys, Bumpin' Uglies. Had iTunes on shuffle tonight and this song came up for the first time in about a year. Love the lyric, "...'cause a boy is born, turns into a man/his dreams are stepped on by anyone who can/I'm showing anyone my backhand/fuck the naysayers I'm stickin' to my plan!"
