My guess is heat, lumens, and spectrum. Not to mention a 100w cfl equivelant puts out more lumens, and only uses 23 actual watts.
Yep, they can be found at your local walmart or home store most of the time. This one puts out 1650 lumens roughly, and uses 1/4 the power while making less heat. To boot, it has the correct spectrum for vegging.
