Hiya brass awesome pics bro! The green solution was one of my favorite shops in Denver tons of good prices on concentrates I'm up in Detroit you would think I was at Best Buy on black Friday Sent from my HTC U11 life using Grasscity Forum mobile app
I haven't looked at the elevations we cross to reach Durango but if we get snowed in it'll be a fight to see who eats who for rations. When we crested the pass we could see the Full length of the snow capped Rocky Mountains stretching off into the distance. Spent the day touring the city, The nearby Lake and Rec area. Back to the hotel for medications and off again after a bite to eat. Rained about 3PM so we drove a few miles north in it and rinsed off the car until it turned to slush at 7,000 ft and flipped back for town. Pictures in no particular order. BNW
I totally love architecture, so thank you so much for those shots. Man I love some of those buildings. Looks so much fun. Good times. Sent from my pet rock.
Dinner last night at Tequilas in Trinidad today we got up early and hit the road in full on winter mode conditions all morning up the east side of Wolf Creek Pass. Dropping temps and falling snow kept the ass end of the loaded car dancing when the slush got thick so I kept cutting speed. Up I25 to Walsenburg where we snapped a pic of the yellow caboose and the local train depot then over 160 to Muleshoe and finally Ft Garland when we left the snow behind and thawed out and grabbed a very late Breakfast while the snow and slush melted from the wheel wells. Turning North on 150 we headed to the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Snapped some shots. Reaching the entrance gate we doubled back 2 miles since we had no intention of camping and headed down Ln 2 as the GPS directed. Paved road so hey why not. Miles down there I can see the Flashing emergency lights in the middle of absolutely nowhere. Sure as hell it's a flipped truck and trailer blocking the pavement and the Fire Dept directs us down Dirt road Ln?? HuH ? WHF over. Ln (Lane) 7 was dirt as was lane Ln 8 and washboard crap only fit to idle down. That finally led to Hwy 17 (paved thank god) and back up to speed. Oppps this puppy has cattle crossing about every 2 miles you need to creep over. I was spacing and didn't always see till late and stand on the brakes. HOLY !!! Whew. Stopped at the irrigation canal and stretched as traffic was non existent. Stopped in Hopper and snapped a few pics and turned on 112 toward Center. Center had a Model T frame remnant that caught my eye. Stuff is still to be found in back yard America 100 years later. BNW
More Model T shots and a narrow gauge Caboose. Big game Processing. Center is big Potato farming area and several old dirt roof storage barns are still standing but long disused. An Adobe building now somebody's shed. A pair of railcars with Dish sat antennas and we pulled off on back woods roads 380 for a walk around and stretch. BNW
Stopped and played at the local overlook on the downhill side and dropped into Pagosa Springs. Finding a Cannabis shop we felt compelled to stop and help the local economy by purchasing some local products. BNW
Still in the springs we spied a likely spot for lunch and alighted. People fly fishing out the back window of the malt shop. TTS with a medium cone. Some antiquing and a stupidly priced 1927 Ford Model T. We kept descending and reached Durango. Found a old school style place and settled in. Hit the local wallyworld for some supplies and drove around a bit getting a general feel for the area Town was a madhouse so we dined just up the road a block from the motel here on the outskirts of town. BNW
That is TTS Doc. Shorts and Flip Flops. My skinny old ass gets COLD and I'm in long pants, long sleeved shirt, layered sweat shirt, and my down jacket. LMAO I'll add my beanie and my gloves as we hit 8,000 feet again. Temps are predicted to be warming here with highs around 70-72. Still colder then frozen snot early this morning as I type. Mid 30s outside and none to warm in the room till I kicked on some heat. Gonna get some more Train Equipment shots this AM and think we'll head up to the end of the line by car since the winter train doesn't run all the way to track end at Silverton. About an hours run north up 550. BNW
