Being able to see through the governments lies...?

  1. Never heard of ancaps until I joined this wonderful community.  Always thought anarchism was a lefty thing, at least it was for my entire life until now.  I'll somehow learn to deal with the dissappointment.

  2. Anarchism isn't a left or right thing but a lack of both.

Traditionally anarchism was more of a "lefty" thing.  My philosophical views, which I agree aren't viable at this time due to the flaws of mankind, have almost always been libertarian socialism, which anywhere else in the world are simply called anarchism.   Since I'm enough of a realist to realize the failure of such a philosophy at this time, I just come across as an extra liberty loving liberal within our modern state.  I think the more recent influx of "righty" anarchism comes from a distortion of Objectivism, since there seems to be a new revival in the mediocre writings of Ayn Rand.

@[member="JohnnyWeedSeed"] - any anarchist still naturally leans right or left.  The definition of anarchism doesn't require either, but the seeds of anarchist thought still lie in a left or right approach.
