Long time smoker and complete virgin grower. I would like to thank my boy Jay Blaze, bud king of Sheffield for his assistance in getting my setup working. I started this grow back on August 14th and will post what I have over the next day or two and update it as we go.

    Welcome aboard!

    Growdate - 2010-08-10

Decided to buy a couple of clones today for no apparent reason with no planning what so ever. These two Strawberry Cough clones caught my eye so I bought them for $10 dollars each and brought them home.

A true newbie is bound to make mistakes, beyond buying two clones with no planning, and my first was to get my clones at lunch and leave them in a paper bag in the trunk till I got home. Parking garage was cool enough but the 25 minute ride home in 100 degree heat left them severely wilted.

I good soaking once I got them home and a few minutes in the sun had them looking much better.

Bought some gear as well but there are still some purchases to make so for now these babies will stay outside in the sun for a few days.

Time to get these puppies inside. Some gear has been purchased and we can get the basic setup working.

Xtrasun XT6AC 6 Inch Air Coolable Reflector
    Canna Coco A 1 Liter
    Canna Coco B 1 Liter
General Hydroponics PH Control and Test Kit
    [IMG]

Only have room for one light and can only afford one bulb so we are going with an HPS.

Agrosun Super Red Sodium 600 Watt HPS
    [IMG]

    Xtrasun Ballast
    [IMG]

Bought a Sun Hut XL 4 x 4 grow tent. It was just small enough to fit into the corner of our office. We actually had room for the huge computer desk next to it. You can see the ballast on the floor.

Had to take the blades off the ceiling fan but it fits!

Light is up and running. I used two Progrip light fixtures hangers to hang the light from steel bars included with the grow tent. The Progrip hangers are ratcheted making it easy to raise and lower the light.

I figured with all this space in the tent I might as well throw in two more clones. The smaller ones are Grand Daddy Purple x Erkle. The weird shadow banding is from the grow light. I didn't learn till later to take pictures with the light off.

  4. Checkup photo from Aug 25th. 3ml per liter of Canna A & B is obviously too much nute as the back leaves are very dark green, brittle and twisting. Of course I didn't figure that out on my own, Jay saved me again.

  5. Time to install the filter, fan and ducting.

    Goblin Charcoal Filter
    6 Inch Ducting
    Xtrasun Hood Cover
Active Air 6 Inch Duct Fan
    Duct Router Speed Control
    [IMG]

    Power Strip In the Corner
    [IMG]

Ducting out the tent to the window. Later installed a outlet valve to stop the backflow of outside air.

Girls out in the hall till the install is done
    [IMG]

    Full setup

    Plants look decent.

  6. Just a checkup picture from Sept 5th. You can't see em but I've got a fairly numerous infestation of fungus gnats. Next time I'll dip the clones first.

At this point I was flushing them with pure water to get out the nute burn but I did it for like a week instead of a day. Next time I'll use 10pct nute solution to flush then re-adjust.

  7. Checkup of all plants. Seeing some yellow on some of the leaves. Asked for help on the forums here and I believe I flushed em for too long with just water. Kicked nutes back up after this checkup.

You can really see the discoloration on this GDPxErkle clone

    Last checkup before flowering
    [IMG]

New Fan. Lasko Wind Tower Platinum 40 inch. This fan is very cool but poses one problem. It has a digital On/Off so it doesn't work with the timer as it won't come back on once it's shut off without phyically pressing the on button.

Fairly dark but a side view none the less

  9. Hello! The dumbass learned to take pictures with the light off! It's a forking miracle! Ok so it looks like we have a problem here with some yellow leaves. Let's take a look at the journal and then we'll look at some pictures.

    2010-09-20
    Water ration w/ 1.5ml per liter of Cana A & B

Added root ecelurator .5ml per 14 liter of water.
5ml per liter of neem oil to combat new fungus gnat outbreak.
I'm seeing yellowing of some of the larger leaves which don't
get much light. Some of them are also developing brown spots.
Also seeing some leaf tip burn which may just be heat/light burn
so I'm going to run the oscallating fan all day.

    2010-09-24
Posted new pictures on grasscity here: http://forum.grasscity.com/sick-plants-problems/670800-yellow-leaves-burnt-leaf-tips.html

Plants are starting to flower. I rearranged the pots due to massive expansion of the Strawberry Cough clones. Starting to worry about running out of room to raise the light.

  16. looking very good...i can actually see some of the frost coming up on those leaves...any possible chance to get a closeup?

  17. Yea that's about as close as the wife's camera can get but I have access to another camera and I'll be taking new snaps on Saturday or Sunday so I can put up whatever you'd like. Peace and thanks very much for your comments!

  18. Entering the fifth week of flowering and we've had some changes this week.

J says it's time to open the plants up. Having no idea what he meant it was explained that it was time to remove the stuff that doesn't receive a lot of light to open up space in the plant for more light to the flowers. Nuff said... a pruning we will go.

Also I spotted a few tiny white flies. We still have some fungus gnats but the mosquito dunks have helped bring them under control. I bought some bright yellow sticky traps which are suppose to attract white flies and also work on gnats.

Let's take a look at the log and then some photos. First time I tried uploading photos to grasscity so we'll see if I can get those cool thumbnails working and bring down the load time of this thread.
