So I've been a nail biter for about 7 years... I don't know why I chew but it honestly just happens.. My fingers just wind up in my mouth and I bite the shit outta them.. I hate it and I've done everything from wearing gloves, using nasty tasting polish to quit, I've used fake nails and I try painting my nails but I still bite through it all.. I'm new to smoking I got introduced to it about 6 to 9 months ago and I smoked probably 2-3 times a week.. It was nice because I noticed myself not biting anymore like I didn't have the urge.. I had always been a nervous and anxious person before smoking but after I became more calm I guess I enjoyed not being so worried all the time.. I was forced to quit though and it's been 2 weeks since I have quit and I've noticed I'm biting my nails again and it hurts so much.. I also noticed I sweat a lot more too.. It sucks.. My question is do you think smoking really helped calm me down and stop biting? Or is it some kind of coincidence? Has anyone else experienced something similar to becoming more calm or having a good lifestyle change due to smoking?
Smoking definitely keeps me calm and happy. And I noticed when I'm high I am more busy and don't just sit around with nothing to do...boredom leads to biting. I used to bite my nails all the time and then my granny told me about the living organisms "bugs" underneath fingernails and it freaked me out and I stopped biting my nails.
