2 year old Oscar Schmidt ou2 for $75. Price comparison? I look online and this shitty ukulele is $65 new.
All the time, I'm looking at guitars on there and I see one in my price range and they're listed for the same price as they are new.
People have no sense of goodness, they just try to rip people off to get their money.
I texted this guy back and gave him a piece of my mind.
I just had to rant here. I was real pissed. I wish I could flag these scheming motherfuckers.

And furthermore, Susan, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to learn that all four of them habitually smoked marihuana cigarettes..... REEFERS"

I hate Craigslist bums like that who sell items way over the actual value. Shits annoying af and it brings up the price on everyone else cause they see someone else selling it for more so they higher the price themselves. Some people are so clueless... Smfh

  6. So you did your research now offer him half and feel good about it because you know he was trying to rip you off. I really find if I offer people half what they want, half the time they take it.

  7. I find some sick ass deals sometimes lol... Just last week I got a brand spankin new dusters longboard for 100$... Zumies has the same exact board for 189.99!!!

I think a lot of people expect a certain amount of haggling on Craigslist too, that may be part of it.

  9. I lucked up when i got my truck off Craig's list a while back. Called the guy up, he said he already had an offer on it. Offered him an extra 100 than the other person was paying, and now im the owner of an Isuzu trooper. (Actually Acura slx, but same thing different package )

I'll check that out. I bet they'll have some great deals on black friday.
Craigslist is the perfect place to buy and sell items, with both parties getting a fair deal. Usually (in my stoner town, at least) people will acknowledge the depreciation of their items. So I pay what's fair for it, the get what's fair for it and I have the convenience of being able to research that product before buying it. Craigslist is amazing. Usually.
I don't want some cheap ukulele. A $75 2-year old ukulele with a chip in the back should be at the very least $150 new. But it's $65 new. He's just a slimy piece of shit. Normally I'd haggle a good deal though.
FYI I texted the guy and told him good luck selling your 2-year old chipped $65 ukulele for $75, asshole. I didn't know if the asshole part needed to be there but I was pissed. I said it.
He said "okay?" And that he bought it new for $100 and that I need to relax.
I told him not only is it morally substandard, but that he was losing out on money too. I guaranteed him that nobody would buy it. And nobody will.

  12. I once listed a 2 year old laptop that costed me $700 new for $75 for fast cash and a ton of people texted me trying to get it down to $40............... Some people are just greedy.

  14. Who are you to criticized what the guy is selling his item for?

Nothing pisses me off when a buyer tries to tell me what my item for sale is worth to THEM

You know, you don't have to buy that item from that guy. Just wait for the next one to show up and buy that

  15. But in OP's case it's what the item is actually worth.... I don't know what you're trying to sell and who's giving you their own personal opinion on the value but this is completely irrelevant to the O.P's situation.

If you're selling a used item for the same price that it goes for new than you're an idiot and you deserve to have someone message you to tell you so. It's called social consequence.

  16. People always say check craigslist for a deal but anytime i look the deals are the worst.  People just ask for what the item sells for brand new.  I'd rather not deal with these people.  Maybe they're just dumb and think that price means whatever it originally cost you.

I usually can sell anything right away on craigslist because I put really fair prices.  The only issue I had was selling XBOX1.  People were either afraid of getting robbed or thought I must have stole it.

Yea but that is the last place I look for anything I need.

  17. that's how some people are they always think there getting there money back and then some lol

i like to email them from a different bunch of emails low balling the shit of them and telling them its worthless and they'll never sell it then pop up on my real email and give a reasonable offer that i would pay and i almost always get what im after

Damn nice strategy haha. I used to post multiple ads selling a cetain item for way higher than it's actually worth, then post my real ad for a decent price just to bring up the value and make more money. It's a hustle haha. I may try your method sometime too. Good lookin

  19. theres nothing wrong with a high asking price. whats the worst thing thats gonna happen? someone buys it? good for the seller. and just because he is asking that much doesnt mean he wouldnt entertain your offer.. you cant fault the guy for trying to get the most he can. we all do it!
