Coachella is always badass. I just went for one day in 2006, saw Tool, Massive Attack, Gnarls Barkley, Murs & a ton of other bands. It was a great time. I hope the line-up is good this year too... are you sure it was being posted up today 1/19/2009? I don't see shit yet on their website...?

As far as how marijuana-friendly Coachella is; it will smell like marijuana guaranteed near the front when almost anyone is playing. A really dank scent will fill the air. As long as you're not like trying to get caught, you're not going to get in any trouble. There are a few cops there, but they're looking for people selling E or things of that nature... not so much looking for a little weed.
I'm fersure going to be there Saturday. Especially because it's right after midterms. Ugh. But the matter of kicking it with you and your friends.. hmm that's yet to be disputed. Jk. I think it's a pretty legit line-up. Maybe not so many big names or big reunions but it looks good to me, nonetheless. I would really like to go this year, for at least one day if not two. If a couple of us end up going, we should maybe arrange a litte get-together... there will be bud.
