It might be OK if you had it lying around and used it for supplemental lighting, but it's only 13.8 watts, 12" (or less) footprint and only blue for vegetation, meaning you would need at minimum one other light. I have used LED's and you will be disappointed if you skimp in wattage/footprint or spectrum. Do your homework thoroughly before buying or it will cost you more than it should. As an example, I would not try to grow anything bigger than 2x2' with up to about a Blackstar 500 (I think they have a true power draw of 235 watts). So you would be just shy of 60 watts psf. Spectrum is also something you need to consider before you purchase and everybody seems to have their own opinion on what's best. FWIW.
