I just got a few questions. 1) Is the dividend yield the only money you make from a stock? 2) Can you also make money from just buying and selling stock? I understand there is a benefit to buying and holding stock, but I also feel if I watch the market I can make more profit by buying a stock and selling it at the right moment. My whole strategy to it depends on the answers. If I only make money on the dividend, then fuck that.
1) No 2) Yes. There is a whole industry and tons of individuals that do the day trading of stock. The basic premise is, buying a particular companies stock, (only publicly traded companies are on the various markets around the world) within a certain industry and based on industry news and events, the companies news and events ie. new products/services comin out or change in leadership etc.. As well as expert advice .. Knowing trends in the market allows you a guess as to when certain ones will go up, allowing you to buy 100 shares of companyA at 10dollars and based on a upward trend it goes to fifteen dollars that's 1500, a 500 profit for you Hope this makes sense man I'm pretty lit up At the moment
