Im buying a car soon, and don't know very much about cars. One of my family members is helping me out. My budgets around $3500.00. I think I'd want to stay around $3000.00 though. Anyone want to help me find a car worth the money that will last? :smoke:

    I was looking at these..

I was told to get a close to the year 2000 model, or later.
This is the search I did. I searched for with in 50 miles of my zip code.

Any input is appreciated, like I said I know little to nothing about cars, and my uncle is helping me. He has some car knowledge, and found a few other people good cars for their money spent. I have very little preference .

  2. Just remember fuel economy, mustangs and Tauruses do not have great mpg. Remember the gas prices. But if gas bills are not a concern then thats a diferent story.

Does it have to be domestic?

  3. Do you like yellow ? but they also come in BLUE and RED

  4. Yeah now that you say that maybe its not such a good choice in this fuel economy. It would be better to get something with a better mpg. I guess it doesn't have to be domestic. I'm not really sure..

  5. A 4 banger jeep wrangler with a manual will last you a very long time... And you can get them in your price-range easily.

  6. Why oh why are they all Fords?

  8. UNI-MOG!!!! 4x4 with that shit

  9. Stay away from used Ford's bro, seriously.
You'll regret any Ford or Chevy or anything.

A great first car is a Honda Civic, I got mine for $2600 a year ago.
It's a '98 civic hatchback dx, I asked what to get on many car forums and such and people were leaning towards Honda & Toyota. People seemed to say the Civic and Corolla would hold up the best. Great fuel economy, much more reliable than Fords and Chevys, parts are cheap, labour is cheap because they're easy to work on.

You wont be disappointed with a Honda Civic.

  10. bro my dad ownes a used car dealership and i work with him dont listen to that get a import crap or dont get a ford thats bull a taurus will run just as long as a civic or any import its all about how the cars maintained not the brand(with the exeption of suzuki and mitsubishi from personal experience they are shit) and personally i think hondas are the ugliest cars ever made just saying as for the 4 banger wrangler i own a 95 as my daily driver and yes they are great trucks but i wouldnt recommend one to you you have to be into the jeep thing to really drive one everyday i love mine and wouldnt trade it for anything but it rides like crap and gets terrible mpg for a 4 cylinder i would recommend any decent 4 cylinder car maybe a stratus or focus, cavalier or malibu really anything that has been taken care of

  11. I'd give a big long response to dac420, but here's all I'm going to say.
He recommended a Focus and a Cavalier.
    LOL....................

Shit will fall apart so easily, get what you wanna get, but look up some consumer reports for any car you're interested in and make sure it's the right year and everything.
Cavaliers have A LOT of problems, as will any Ford you look up.
Compare the known problems of all cars you're interested in.

Cavalier, Stratus, Malibu, and Focus will all turn up with extremely bad results.
Get something that'll last bro, something that's built to last.

  12. Honda civic

okay lets get one thing straight who would you rather listen to this kid who drives a honda civic every day or me who drives 5-10 different cars a day and say what you want but hondas are shit i know a little bit more about them then you do i buy quite a few of them for our lot and i have a 2004 accord i retailed last week that has 60k miles and the timing chain broke so now i have to fix my customers car which will be a couple grand, honda=shit on the other hand we have a 2000 ford crown vic police interceptor we use as a lot car to run errands in that we have had for two years and put 120k miles on it it now has 230k and runs perfect never had a problem with it i would pick a ford over a one of those japanese gokarts any day the main problem with them is that teenagers buy them and think they are in fast and furious and run the shit out of them im not saying a civic is a bad car overall if you can find a cheap well taken care of one then more power to you but it wont last you any longer than a ford
edit:i will say one good thing for hondas they do hold there value quite well even though i think a taurus is a good car i buy them dirt cheap cause they dont hold there value and also have you thought about an impala those are good cars to

  14. 80s toyota pickup preferably not efi
romp the shit out of it to fist investment rip them cheap ass timing chain guides and buy some steel ones

  15. But I will tell you from experience you will regret buying a Taurus or any variant thereof the second you have to change the starter.

  18. I dont think id be into getting a jeep, or a truck though. A taurus is definitely out now.

  19. save more money, get a job if you don't already have one, and buy new or newish you'll be happier.

but for 3k, you wanna go fast? or just reliable, and depending what part of jersey you're from I could recommend or not recommend getting a honda for good gas / daily driver. haha
