Any fellow blades DJ's? (Show your setup)

  1. Hello! I just recently returned to the magical land that is GC, and in my absence I've been working hard at getting some recognition as a DJ in my area. I was just seeing if we had any other dj's here to talk gear porn or just talk about how it's coming. Well here's mine

    Traktor S4
    Maschine MK1
    Traktor F1
    Technic 1210
    MBP 13" 2011
    Pioneer HDJ-500

    Fellow DJ's welcome!

  2. Just curious how experienced you are and how much money you have put into your equipment?

  3. Well I've been DJ'ing for about 3 years now, we've been light and sound for 1 1/2. I've put about $2300 into sound equipment and helped with about $1000 of the lights. We aren't huge but we are gaining momentum and moving to bigger cities.

  4. Here is a pic of me and my partner, and the second one is us in the masks we out on for the last hour (when shit is getting crazy) and the last one is our last crowd

  5. That's pretty dope man, definitely looks like a great setup, those masks are fucked (in a creepy good way). Not a bad crowd in the last pic either, where abouts ya live?

  6. We live in Mississippi, and thanks man we have a lot of fun doing it and meet great people.

Dj Lush - Pittsburgh's Prince of Hardstyle

My home set up is currently two Numark NDX900's, Beringher DJX-750, and full PA sound with Monitors and a 15" Sub. When I play out it is normally either Pioneer CDJ-1000's or CDJ-2000's (which is why I dont buy them, because they are always provided every rave I play)

I've been Djing for around 4 years, and have played alongside artists such as Angerfist, Treachery, and Satronica. I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting. I'm booked to play Toronto, Ontario in January along with Massachusets, Detroit, NYC, Miami, and a bunch more cities on the east coast.

Peep out my soundcloud at DjLush's sounds on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free

I'm actually in the process of getting together my next installment to The Hardstyle Highlife right now lol.

Here's the next show I will be playing Free This 5: Ravelations!

Here's a video of one of my favorite shows I've had. This crowd was absolutely bonkers!

  10. Here's my controller

Last time I get kicked off the 'top for being too "funeral" y'all.

  11. Got a soundcloud? Help the exposure man, let some blades hear ya beats

  12. Yeah I have a soundcloud but its nothing but old stuff right now, I'll post some of my newer mixes and post my info on here soon

  13. Have a mixtrack pro controller with serato and computer speakers. I stayed cheap bc I know I wont be able to dedicate myself 100% and I just really make mixes for myself. I want to be motivated to play some clubs eventually, but as of right now I'm not.

Can you guys recommend any good books or tutorials? I'm decent on mixing intros and outros, but thats about as good as I get. I'm having trouble mixing the end of one songs chorus to another songs buildup to keep a constant flow going. However the technique is called. I usually try to mix electro and progressive house.

  14. All I can say man is watch videos of djs you enjoy and just kinda try to mimic what they do. If you want, go to DJTechTools forum and look around those guys are super helpful. I started with a mix track they are awesome controllers.

  15. i've been djing for a little over a year now. i use my mouse, and my A and D key to crossfade back and forth LOL.
i'm more of a mashup artist however, and i have use acid 6 for that process. i have some mashups and mixes here --> https://soundcloud.com/djwobby

p.s. i mess with progressive/electro house so keep that in mind genre-wise

  16. Ok thanks for the tips. I like it, it's not flashy at all, but I like the bigger jog wheels. Opposed to the traktor. I'm hoping to move up to cdjs one day, but I'm like on the edge of deciding whether I want to produce more or dj more. I can't put all my effort into one thing atm, and it'll be my hobby. So I'm not expecting much of it, just to pass time and learn something new.

  17. Nice HARDSTYLE:hello:

love hearing that live but we rarely have any shows and festivals that play it in L.A.

  18. just order numark mixtrack pro...any thoughts?

Hell yeah. For most gigs you don't need much more than that man. I started off with a numark total control, which has less features than the one you're getting. I then upgraded to a VSM4.1, and eventually to denon 3500s.

It took me a year of doing house parties and a few bar/club gigs to realize I want to get into a bit more. Now I have an entire speaker setup with a few micro lasers and such- definitely building my little business.

I wouldn't rely on it for money at all. This is mostly a hobby of mine, and all the gigs are a bonus. Although 90% of the fun is dj'ing at a gig!

New setup, got these babies last week :)

EDIT: LOL below the red table, you can see the zig zags, total control and vms4.1 ;D
