Why is it that religion has become what is considered good, Masses of people being manipulated by what is not quite understood, The bible seems like it's the answer to life but it's just a fairy tale, To think that living life in the ways of God would prevail, Is the same thing as promoting optimism of our ignorance. It explains how life has become so incredulously tyrannous, Conditioned to think a certain way or destined to be an outcast, Society deems people to achieve what is normal or you finish out last, Leaders will naturally defend their actions through righteousness, A veil placed to perceive things unclearly, avoiding contest of all the mess. We can't see that normality is impossible, that life thrives on imperfection, So we worry about our image, forgetful to think in another's perspective, Then look at ourselves as gods, yearning to gain attention and sustain power, Although never learning from our mistakes as we succumb to fear and desire, We continue to live this way, as if human nature was written in stone, Humans grown prone to hurting others, entertained as they moan, Destroying ourselves because we find that creating takes too much time, Actions only made for instant satisfaction, we dirty ourselves with grime, Now I sit here and get high, watch the world go by and reminisce, Because I've realized now we are all spiraling down into a fatal abyss.
