    A Kansas City, Kan., man caught in the act of tending to his 900 marijuana plants was sentenced Monday to 7½ years in prison.

    Kevin A. Novosel, 23, pleaded guilty last year in U.S. District Court in Kansas City, Kan., to one count of conspiracy to manufacture a controlled substance and one count of carrying a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, U.S. Attorney Eric Melgren's office said in a release Tuesday.
