anyone else into ambient electronica? stuff of the likes of boards of canada, tycho or slightly even pretty lights. just made a new tune today inspired by this genre. https://soundcloud.com/midnightstatic/daytime-highsSent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Mix sounds good to me! Only thing I wasn't too keen on is the vinyl hiss type noise which seems to cut in and out of the track intentionally I'd presume. What DAW are you working with?
I work in ableton live, and yes the hiss was intentional the track was ran through some old tape to create some analog warmth, and some may be from my analog synth. thanks for the input!Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
I listen to some Tim Hecker and Stars of the Lid... I guess those count as "ambient electronica." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GlCpOhPZXVo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MaSi7Gut7xM
yeah I'm a Boards of Canada fan, Geogaddi + acid is something everyone should experience. I wouldn't say I am a big fan but I enjoy some stuff. here is what I'm digging right now http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzJcHd_58bg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuyygdGP4Lo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_02xwhYNwII http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQNX2_-hlFY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=apxuRKWmEJs

Tycho is fucking awesome. Jon Hopkins isn't bad. Depends on how hard you want it. I think Black Moth Super Rainbow/Tobacco are awesome. Blue Sky Black Death, their album Noir is awesome chillwave. Blockhead is good if you are in for trippy jazzy beats. "Heffer: Through the use of sophisticated computer technology, and a box of crayons, we have constructed a likeness of Dingo today."
Mitis is you want chill step. "Heffer: Through the use of sophisticated computer technology, and a box of crayons, we have constructed a likeness of Dingo today."
