alcohol evaporation ?

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by ryan juler, Nov 21, 2011.

  1. why do you evaporate the alcohol from cannabis tincture ? how long does this processes take without using heat?

  2. What you're doing by evaporating the solution is increasing it's potency. So instead of 10 drops of solution being a single dose 2 drops of solution can be a single dose. None of the THC will come out of the solution, but inert ingredients (alcohol, water) will. So you're increasing the amount of active ingredients per mL. How long it will take depends on the proof of the alcohol. Higher proof will evaporate faster because it has more alcohol and less water and alcohol evaporates much quicker than water. A couple of fluid ounces will probably evaporate in a day or two.
