I am going to be setting up a closet grow room which measure WxHxD 10ftx12ftx5ft. I want to go with an aeroponic setup which will house 6 plants maybe up to 12. I have a couple questions. 1. Is the closet to large for a 1000w? Should I cut the closet in half? Also I was thinking of purchasing this lamp http://discounthydro.com/pllighting.asp the first one. This seems like the best lamp available. Please let me know if there is something better. Also are the premade aeroponic setups worth the money or is it better to just build your own? I would say that particular light you linked would probably turn you closet into an oven. With the confined space within a closet(assuming there is a door that partitions it from the room) an air cooled reflector is crucial for temp control. plus that lamp reflector looks kinda week. I would definitely go with the switchable ballast.
