Hello everyone. I'm in need of some activated carbon for my filter but am not sure how much to purchase. I was thinking I would buy some online since it sells for nearly half the price compared to a local pet store. Their way of measuring it is in weight and I had no idea what the actual quantity would look like in person. My filter is a home made one with an outer diameter of 8" and has an inner tube that is 6", meaning I'd only need to fill the 1" gap between the 8" and 6" tubes. It's length is also 2 feet. The quantities they sell on e-bay are anything from 1 to 25 pounds. Any ideas?
Walmart!!!!! But yeah for that size go with EBAY... tried doing math and got aroun 44 cubic inches or 3.7 cubic feet IDK
Ya, I did the area calculation myself. I'm not sure what amount of area 1 pound of carbon would fill however.
