A newbies grow log. Bagseed + Easy Ryder 600w hps + cfl

Discussion in 'Indoor Grow Journals' started by tescos, Feb 1, 2014.

  1. Hello all

Noticed since yesterday, 2 of the plants ( the smaller ones!) both, I believe suffer from Nitrogen deficiency

the 2 embro leaves have yellowed, PLUS the first set above that (the 2 single fan leaves) have yellow blotches

So i decided to feed them all 3 plants have been watered today (1000ml) + 0.5ml BioBizz Grow

Gave about 50-150ML of run off of each plant, tested PH run off at 6.2-6.4 (varied for each plant)

Lights on soon, will keep this thread updated if they explode with growth, or die.

    On with the pictures!

    Update again..

Things have took a turn for almost the worst.

Everything was going OK - untill I mounted the new fan on the wall - it sent vibrations through the wall, on the floor, ceiling. Put a piece of foam in between the wall and fan, worked, however, while i was away, the fan fell, for possibly 7 hours maximum until I found it, exhaust air from the 600w hps had been blowing directly onto the largest plant - the fan obviously fell 5ft too, on to the plant, it didn't snap anything however it pretty much incinerated the bottom set of leaves. The plant is now lop sided, so have propped it up.

Aswell as this the entire room reached 46.5C by the time I turned the light off.

Will this be the end of the grow? I don't know.

I've just sorted everything out now, fed the 2 Easyryders 1litre of water each, with 1ml of Grow + 1ml Bloom.

I also watered the "Feminized #1" With plain ph'd water on the 24th.

Any thoughts let me know. The day 31 easyryder looks like it really has taken a beating.

The best thing I could of done/ pro tip for beginning growing is: Do a test run for a few days and make sure your grow room is ready to go before actually growing, and don't make alterations.

    Update

    Temps all under control

Watered "Feminized #1" I have been doing a bit of research and think this is actually skunk #1, so will be renamed

With 1.5ml Bio Grow per litre

    Everything seems ok

ps. I think this skunk #1 is going to veg till day 70~ when the easyryder are harvested. O.O

  8. I believe the Skunk #1 has symptoms of overwatering, it's leaves are curling under, not dry or anything though.

I wish I could flower her, another 4-5 weeks of veg is just madness.

  9. Small update

Eldest easyryder, has some yellowing again I believe to be N def, not sure, nonetheless I watered 2 litres of water with 1.25ml Grow + 1ml Bloom per litre on both Easyryders (day 35,36)

Temps 20-21.5 lights off, 27-28.5 lights on.

    Run off at pH 6.5-6.6

  10. Slight update, but busy as of late

Watered all plants today as follows:

    Both easyryders:

    1.25ml grow per litre
    1.25ml bloom per litre

    skunk #1 :
    1.25ml grow
    1ml bloom

Skunk #1 looks underwatered, should be ok after this.

Other pics wont upload so no pictures

  11. Im subbed! :d
Had similar temp issues for first 2-3 weeks at the start of my grow, caused some serious stunting....
Mine oldest are 36 days and looking like yours at 10-12 day olds! :(

  12. Update is here

Watered all 3 today with plain water

I'm going away for a couple of days so I hope they survive the drought!

Still not sure If the skunk is auto or fem, would love some input lolz.

Yellowing on bottoms of all plants, they are hardy I admit

30 ish days left in the grow

Growing slightly, some serious yellowing on the Skunk.

Leaf bend in Skunk I think may be due to N tox.

  13. Back after being away for 4/5 days

    Plants looked thirsty for water,

fed all 3 as 1ml per litre Grow, 1.5ml Bloom (15th)

Pictures before the feed, hence low drooping leaves. They look much better today

  14. Update

Watered again today, should of done yesterday, however didn't have time.

1ml Grow per litre , 1.5ml Bloom per litre again.

    Keeping it steady.

Trimmed dead leaves off plants, still have yellowing issues.

Just going to see it through and maintain what I'm doing at the moment for the rest of the grow.

    On with the pictures

  15. Hey dude, i've been having almost identical yellowing issues...
Thought it was N deficiency too . But when id fed with 1ml grow to Litre of water the following day it seemed to have worsened... When i used plain water it didnt get better but stayed the same.

I figured that it was nute burn!
Ive dropped my feed level to 0.5ml per litre and its been all good!
The yellowing and crispy bits haven't got better but they have just stopped as they are for the past 2 weeks!

Could always be lockout if it is a deficiency whats your water ph and your runoff ph?

My ph going in is about 6.6/6.7/6.8 and run off can be about 6.3-6.4 usually. Usually get 10-20% run off too. I don't believe it's lockout

I'm going to lower feed level next time and see what happens. I should probably take better comparison photos to see if it gets worse or better!

    Cheers!

Ps. they arent crispy when yellow, like the large ones. Them ones feel like a soft leather!

  17. Ph in seems fine, 6.3 on the runoff might be pushing a tad low but not low enough to lockout N at any rate!

i was watering around 6.0 earlier on with mine cos i was working to hydro ph levels 'DOH!!'
Still, mine coped fine for a few weeks like that with no signs of any lockouts or deficiencies.

Think its more likely to be nute burn, are you alternating plain watering and nute watering?
I watered with nutes twice in a row and that really sped up the effects!

Sry i wasn't clear in the earlier post. The crispy bits i meant the tips of the yellowing leaves where they have gone pale brown! But yea seems to be like a very soft leather, almost suede feel where they are yellow.

  18. Update from yesterday

All plants flushed, and fed half strength nutes....... 0.5ml grow 0.75ml bloom per litre

almost 24 hours later and they look worse, even more yellow.  These pics were taken before the flush. Will update on next water. Going to leave them, and feed them with grow nutes only to hopefully bump the N, I'm thinking that they don't like mixing bloom and veg nutes together.

  19. Very nice, subbed. One of my plants is a little over 2 weeks, and looking half the size of yours. I think I stunted the growth of it in the beginning though.

Just had a thought, how long have they been in flower?
I see most of the white hairs have gone a brown colour (which is about ready for harvest, according to what I've read) the only white ones are new ones at the top of the cola and some strains will continue growing new ones until they die.

They are annuals dont forget, they die after flowering!
As flowering progresses they have already started dying lower down now they are putting what they have left into bud production, by harvest time they will be almost dead!

Just some posts/journals i was reading a while back (had forgotten as im not at that point yet) some of the pics on the journal a few days from harvest and the plant looks totally fubar as 2/3 of the plant was dead from the bottom up! Just the buds still looking green.
