Well, at least we're not a nation of bores.

  3. i would like to see the source behind several of these. seems like a typical anti american bullshit website. surprised it's not a co.uk site.

  4. Yes, bores. What about it?

It's obvious to me that at least 3 are bullshit, 7, 8 and 9. And I'm sure there are others.

  5. i would at least agree to the crimes stat. there are so many differant crimes here its hard to not be dirty

  6. More pornography is created in the United States than anywhere else on the entire globe. 89 percent is made in the U.S.A. and only 11 percent is made in the rest of the world.

How is this a BAD thing? xD

  7. those are exactly what i was talking about, yeah. fuckin european propaganda bullshit

  8. the porn thing is still interesting lol

  9. Well the website is called The Economic Collapse. It might as well be called anti american. Not saying that in a bad or good way, just saying that I would expect an article like this.

Many Central American, South American and African nations make the U.S. look spiffy clean by comparison.

  11. exactly, its obviously anti american to us who live here cause we know that shit aint true, but dumb rednecks in other countries stereotype the HELL out of us, they are hypocrites. it pisses me off.

  12. Well idk man, there are a lot of people out there HERE that believe it. I don't really pay attention so I can't put my input. I wouldn't be surprised if that website is ran by an American. A lot of new agers follow this stuff with conspiracies etc.

  13. an american that is influenced by european anti american propaganda...wouldnt surprise me in the least.

  14. That was a really pointless article. Nothing there I didn't already know or couldn't assume myself. Not one thing...literally.

Ya it's sad but we have to live with them. Many of those statistics are just worded well. You can go down that list and explain each point refuting it.

    Rambling below.

Highest rate of drug use-We have the most disposable income and we work longer hours than most countries. Not to mention the most profit comes from selling to Americans(get em hooked on something and you're good). We deserve our relaxation time.

Car thefts. We have more cars than any nation. Best market for cars also(maybe not anymore or soon, idk).

Reported rapes, murders, and crimes-Kind of chuckled at these because the only countries that report these kinds of crimes anywhere close to the U.S. are mostly European nations. Don't they still have their policeman running around with whistles and flashlights? Different world than the U.S. Plus in the the last 30 years the laws enacted to protect women here in the U.S. directly affected those statistics.

Police officers, incarcerated, and prison population-Money is a son of a bitch. Law enforcement is a huge entity that isn't impartial. They want to stay in business and make money.

Healthcare, Pharma, anti-dep-Our healthcare isn't out to make us healthy, their there to make money just like every other company. They LOVE giving people anti-depressants probably just as much as they love having me on asthma for the rest of my life. I'm like a cigarette smoker for life, always going to buy their product. I really laugh at people taking antidepressants though, can they really be that pathetic?

Student loans-Huge business behind it, comes down to the money just like almost everything else in this article.

Porn-Once again, huge amounts of money. I live 15 minutes away from the biggest porn filming area in the country, and world. A lot of pathetic males out there giving money away. I wonder when the first day I pay for porn is going to be.

Trade and Military-Trying to retain that number one spot, go big or go home.

    Taxes-We love paying them taxes.

Debt-Just going to get worse and worse since our trading advantages are going to shit. Globalization is doing it's work in reducing American dominance that was set up in the 20th century.

    Ramble complete, forgive me.

    A stupid biased article.

  15. and they say americans dont know their shit. lol.

  16. Some of this is misleading.

#2 According to NationMaster.com, the United States has the highest percentage of obese people in the world.

I never understood how being obese is such a terrible thing. Is it something you strive for? Obviously not. Does it indicate a sedentary lifestyle? Sure. Does it mean your country has more than enough food and many people have the ability to acquire said food? Yep and that's why it never bothered me. It wasn't so long ago that being fat was attractive because it meant that you could feed yourself.

#5 The United States has the highest rate of illegal drug use on the entire planet.

A moral issue, in this case a fake issue. We also have a higher number of people with readily available funds and free time, it's the same reason we're tied with Britain for most tv watched.

#6 There are more car thefts in the United States each year than anywhere else in the world by far.

We probably also have the most cars in the world, and the largest disparity between the rich and the poor in the world.

#7 There are more reported rapes in the United States each year than anywhere else in the world.

Reported is the key word, it says nothing of what's going on in countries were the women don't have rights and are too afraid to talk. Not to mention this might get a boost from reported prison rape and would have to do more with our incarceration and the way we jail people than actual rape stats.

#9 There are more total crimes in the United States each year than anywhere else in the world.

We also have an extremely defunct legal system. More crimes doesn't mean more bad stuff is taking place, it just means we've simply made more things illegal than other countries and use those as an excuse to squeeze money out of people. It's still not a good thing, but it's not the image the stats put out where it's just a lawless society of criminals.

#10 The United States also has more police officers than anywhere else in the world.

We tend to over fund many departments, including police. On top of that since we've made so many things illegal we need more police to deal with the response. Plus wouldn't more police officers theoretically be a good thing if there entire country was out committing crimes?

#12 The United States has more people on pharmaceutical drugs than any other country on the planet.

This implies that the drugs don't actually help people. If they did... wouldn't this be a good thing?

#14 Americans have more student loan debt than anyone else in the world.

I'm pretty sure we're also the only country that gives grants to every student trying to enter college so that everyone has a chance to go.

#15 More pornography is created in the United States than anywhere else on the entire globe. 89 percent is made in the U.S.A. and only 11 percent is made in the rest of the world.

Moral issue, and not really a bad thing IMO.

#17 The United States spends 7 times more on the military than any other nation on the planet does. In fact, U.S. military spending is greater than the military spending of China, Russia, Japan, India, and the rest of NATO combined.

We also have the strongest military force with the most advanced weaponry. Is it good that we spend that much? Probably not, especially with the way the economy is at the moment but if any country decided to start shit with us(which they won't because of how strong out military is) you'd be happy we did this.

#19 The United States has the most complicated tax system in the entire world.

Here it implies that complicated somehow means worse. I'm not saying the tax system is good, but what does this statement even really mean?

So yeah... most of this is stupid shit although they referenced some good points.

  17. Um... no. You're way, way off on that one.
