A changing of the guard in the media landscape?

  1. It seems to me these last few months has seen an exodus of sorts of popular media personalities. First, with Colbert, then the abrubt ending of Brian Williams news media career (which IMO has less to do with his mistaken twisting of the facts, and more to do with his daughter's pornographic ass munching scene), and finally the titan, the big kahuna, Mr. John Stewart announcing his stepping down later this year. With a looming 2016 presidential campaign that guarantees a new president, at least for me, this coming election season is going to feel a bit different without these major media influences present like they have been for over 16 years.

    Any thoughts?

  2. they should be fbi and congresswomen, and the old folks the electoral college

  3. it kind of sucks. i agree.

i do enjoy john oliver's weekly show on hbo.

i don't think Stewart is replaceable, however i do hope that whoever steps in the next role can evolve the show and continue to grow.

  4. Ashley Williams porno scene, where?

  5. Well regardless of what you guys think and according to every single baramoter of viewers, listeners by and large America does not listen or watch CNN, MSNBC.

Fox News literally crushes them. THe only reason actually why CNN, MSNBC even exist on the air is because of channel bundling. If you do not know what that is well look it up...its also why you pay so much for Cable TV.

If you go over to talk radio literally every single liberal radio show fails or has really low listeners. Radio works a little different then TV it requires listeners to generate revenue. Rush, Mark Levin etc account for nearly 90% of people that listen to talk radio. Rush alone gets over 20 million listeners a day..hence his 400 million dollar contract through like 2018 time frame.

The Brian Williams thing well only old people watch the evening news. They get 5-10 million viewers a evening which is decent but really like all media its all being disrupted by the under 40 crowd.

Americans don't listen to cnn or msnbc because people realize they are shit sources of news who often get information wrong, exaggerate shit, ignore facts, and throw out politicians/lobbyists as "experts" who are there to plug their bullshit. Most Americans get their news through combinations of online news sources. It's clear that there is a major liberal bias at msnbc and there is a definite liberal bias at cnn although it is a lot less than Msnbc. Fox News and msnbc are different sides of the same coin. They have basically just become platforms for their party to throw on one of a thousand talking heads whenever they want to get their new talking points out. Most people realize this and choose not to subject themselves to bullshit cable news, which is why there numbers are so low. Now about half of all news viewers are over the age of 65. People of this age I think are much less skeptical of the news and are much more willing to look past or not notice the bullshit that these networks try to pull. Generally older people tend to be more conservative so it seems pretty understandable why many people watch fox. I'm sure you would consider me a "liberal" although I think terms are like that are moronic, but even I can't stomach msnbc. Shit is just so boring and obviously skewed. I would rather watch fox because at least some of their anchors are entertaining and engaging. I think most people realize cable news is bullshit and don't like getting skewed information one way or the other. How to people stomach garbage like Limbaugh and Rachel Maddow. Can't stand those cunts.

Lol, I went out and already saw it, 3/10 wouldnt fap again haha.

All joking aside, I dont think Colbert and Stewart departing will change much. Colbert is going to host the Letterman Show I believe, so it's name will change, and JS will probably get a new gig somewhere.

  8. Despite their incessant liberal propoganda, I will miss Colbert and Stewart.

    I did enjoy their shows

While it may shock some the Daily Show was did not generate tons of viewers. It had a narrow viewship in terms of age bracket and about 1 million a day. A little more some says less some days. In contract Jimmy Kimmel and Fallon get 3-5 million.

Only the left wing media cared and they sobbed and cried even gushed.

Colbert well he went to replace Letterman to save a sinking ship and will end up dying there. Kinda like Price is Right bubba who hears from him now. Not very many.

  10. There is 0 evidence for his '20 milliin viewers'. Those rating systems are laughable.

  11.
There is 0 evidence to dispute it. You have to go by what the industry uses to mark viewers. Like for instance Walking Dead last week generated 15 16 million viewers...prove to me that more watched it as one of the most watched programs prove to me less watched it. You can't. Its the metrics they go by for advertising, time slots etc.

Its like MPG on a car...its a laughable number that Consumer Reports thoroughly trashes on almost annual basis since that number is created in a very controlled condition that you are unlikely to ever replicate in your life. Its that way since the entire automotive industry has to agree to the standard before its used. Never the less its the number we all go by no matter how inaccurate it is. In the past automotive makers put a car on a tread mill accelerated it to 60 and ran it till the gas went away. They never turned, went up a hill etc it was all indoors. The test recently has been changed but its still far far far from being accurate.

  12. I cannot falsify data that doesnt exist.

That so-called narrow "viewship" is the most highly sought after age group.  Advertiser care very little about Limbaugh's aging and irrelevant "viewship."  Hence, Sleep by Number Beds, Lifelock, Hillsdale College, some flower company and a stamp company.  All very lame ass.

Nobody cares about a soon to be extinct group of ditto heads, except, of course, other ditto heads.

  14.
I guess your part of that 55,000 that tune into Madcow and Brother Sharpton. MSNBC/CNN the ONLY reason there even on the air is from channel bundling. For the low information crowd that is why there are so many channels on cable. To get one channel the content provider requires your cable company to carry all the rest of the useless garbage they have. For instance Food Network owns 4 channels I believe...to get Food Network you have to get the other 3.

The only irrevelent class of people are the liberals. Judging by last falls election were on course to correcting this issue. I am sure you will tell me how that won't happen but your probably the same person a month before last fall's election would of said the same thing.

That narrow band of viewers that your talking about have devesting unemployment or under employment, a larger then ever segment still lives at home with mama, there incomes are lower then ever, there marriage rate is dismal, there home ownership levels are lower then any other generation in that age  bracket. What is there to seek out of that group. A whole lot of whinning and nothing else. Enjoy the misery, I know I am not.

  15. i've actually started enjoying the nightly show spin off more and more.
at first it was too race-oriented for my taste, but the recent episodes are quite fun actually...
