The general rule is one plant one pot I don't recommend adding more to a pot as such don't think this is going to work out for you some links to learn by https://hightimes.com/grow/grow-qa-can-i-grow-multiple-pot-plants-in-one-container/ How to Grow Cannabis in 10 Steps | Grow Weed Easy good luck
I start bending them over horizontally in 4 directions away from each other, so they wont compete with each others space. You can figure they each have 5 gallons of soil. I also really don't like the idea of so many in 1 pot. If I did do 1 pot with multi plants/pot, I would be doing sea of green. Your pot is probably 1ft x 1ft. Id put 4 plants in there, and grow 4 per sq/ft. Id veg to 12-15 inches, and go for main colas only. 5 x 4 area and a 1000w Gavita Id put 120 plants and 30 grow bags… Id use 10 gallon containers, but make sure they are 1 ft x 1 ft. Other than that to maximize your 4 plants, Id bend them away from each other, and get all the light, and air flow possible to them.
Going to have to disagree with you on that the roots communicate with each other got 8 oz off each plant I’ve been doing this for a while I like to stretch the boundaries and have had great luck
