just got a 660 watt metal halide with balast this shud be fine 4 vegg right??how fart shud i keep my babys from it i noticed it gets pretty damn hott?thnxx
660 watt MH should veg an area roughly 16-25 square feet nicely. Keep your shorter plants directly in the middle, sort of creating a bowl shape with the tops of your plants. Depending on the strain of the plants and how old/strong they are is going to determine how much heat they can stand. Start young plants 2-2.5 feet from the bulb. You may be able to get established plants as close as 1-1.5 feet from the bulb. Good Luck.
