Hay guys, 60% is apparently only a "slim majority". Who do these assholes think they're fooling?

It was a typo and its actually 60%. Thats still a clear majority and hardly "slim". Plus, the numbers would have been better, if not for the completely loaded questions:

  4. C'mon, you should know by now to treat his posts as absurdist fiction.

  5. Ok and your point?

51% think its about right, 9% think it doesnt go far enough.

  6. Thats 60% who support Arizona.

Like I posted though, there is more:

This is hardly a slim majority, or a racially exclusive one.

    What exactly is absurd?

  7. So wait, if it's only in the context of a lawful stop then there's no racial profiling going on. Why are people so opposed to this then?

  8. Except that the article is exclusively referring to people who think the laws are just about right.

Also, why is it that people who didn't think the health care bill went far enough weren't counted as supporting the bill if the 9% here should be counted?

So, because a majority of Americans are upset with the current status of immigration, it automatically means they support a law that encourages profiling and discrimination?

    I see.

Well, for one thing, your complete lack of objective reading comprehension.

  9. Huh? Its a poll taken of support for the Arizona laws. They support them. They aren't saying the lack of enforcement of the law is just about right.

NYT/CBS slant poll question, but people still support Arizona law

The law doesn't do that and the poll is pretty clear that they support Arizona....

Poll: Majority Backs Arizona Immigration Bill - Political Hotsheet - CBS News

Considering how confused you seem to be, your criticism doesn't mean much.

  10. Gov. Brewer made changes to the law because it was going to be found unconstitutional. One of the changes was replacing the phrase “lawful contact” with “lawful stop, detention or arrest”. Also, another part of the amended bill is now a police officer responding to city ordinance violations would also be required to determine the immigration status of an individual they have reasonable suspicion of being an undocumented immigrant. The revised law also authorizes law enforcement, as well as campus police, “to question those they suspect to be illegal immigrants and ask that they produce verification of their status”.

This new NYT/CBS poll shows that Americans broadly agrees that the Arizona law will result in racial profiling, overburden local and state law enforcement agencies, and decrease undocumented immigrants willingness to report crimes in fear of deportation. But yes, a slim majority still supports it.

Id like to know the demographics of those surveyed.

  11. I love polls because they are essentially meaningless tripe.

    However, if I may indulge,

64% of Americans want the illegal immigrants to stay here when found.

Which begs the question: what the fuck is the point?

60% (for the sake of argument) support the law to find the illegals after they cross the border, yet 64% want them to stay.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the reason why Americans have their decisions made for them.

  12. The changes were made to remove any doubt. Of course when brown people get arrested and deported, people are going to scream racism. Everyone knows it. Of course, nobody has ever seen a south American/Mexican illegal immigrant that wasn't brown, so I'm not sure how you can avoid it.

Well, the MSM is wall to wall claims that its going to happen. On top of that the vast majority of illegals on the southern boarder are in fact, brown.

Need to confirm your racial prejudices huh?

    Okay, retard.

Do you see how the article has "about right" in quotation marks? Do you see how on the poll 51% of people think the laws are "about right"? Do you think maybe the "slim majority" is correct when they explicitly define their parameters?

    coolface

    CBS News?

    liberal propaganda

please stop with the name calling.. thank you

  14. At least, as long as they are showing stats you don't like. Polls were so popular under Bush, now you hardly see them (in regards to the pres).

Yeah, Americans are nice people. They don't want to hurt any families and don't want to be seen as racist hate mongers. They do however, want our laws and citizenship respected like any other country. The fact is, illegals get a much nicer ride here in the US than they would ANYWHERE else. Especially their home country.

  15. Ah childish name calling, the foundation of any good argument. No sir, what you're seeing there are word games the pollster used to make the numbers look smaller. The poll is about support for the Arizona law, which they themselvs even say. So that means, the people who think its "about right" and the people who think "it doesn't go far enough", are both in support of the Arizona law.

What you're doing is playing dumb and acting like you don't know any better. Then again, maybe you don't.

  16. It's not word games if they precisely define their terms.

Uh, how? If the law doesn't go far enough, why does that mean you support it? Surely there's some overlap, but if you think the law should go farther, don't you think there would be people who wouldn't support it because, you know... it doesn't go far enough?

  17. There are three-hundred million people in the United States. Polling one thousand people does not give you a good idea of the widespread opinion of the populace in any situation.

Then why not setup legislation that makes it easier for these people to be ingrained into our society, instead of treating them like criminals?

  18. I guess Arizona learned from Obama and figured something is better than nothing.

Making it easier for illegals to disobey our laws only encourages more. How many amnesties have we already had? Did that lower the number of people invading?

  19. No, id like to understand the poll better. It was conducted by the MSM, come on now Drone, it could be a vast left-wing conspiracy.

  20. 320 Republicans, 380 Democrats, 379 Independents.

Sorry, no race statistics. Probably because they're completely irrelevant.
