I spotted this 500 watt Halogen light in my garage and was wondering if it would be at all suitable for growing? Im pretty sure its useless but just wanna check. I would most likely add in 4 CFLs to supplement it, if it isnt any good im just gonna bite the bullet and get me an HPS. Anyone know of a cheap UK supplier?
I don't know why in the title to this thread you called it a MH light, it's not and you acknowledge that it is halogen. Not good for growing, gives off way too much heat.
Thought so, cheers. Dunno why i put that in title, maybe i smoke to much Im going with a 525 Watt Compact Fluorescent CFL Hydroponic Grow Light for £26 inc p&p. The colour temperature is 6400K and they kick out approximately 10,000 lumens Will pick up a 2700K when i get to flowering. Hopefully will do the trick for grow numero uno
