Alright ive been stumbling across grow journals for the past 2 hours or so. Which made me stumped Because i'm at day 35 of flowering, and im no where as close as some people on this forum. I'm using FFOF soil with added perlite. And im also using foxfarm nutes (tiger bloom, big bloom,grow big) The plant is looking super healthy, and has a beautiful tint of green with a lovely top cannopy. The main stem/stalk is as wide as a flashlight or two-fingers together. and is currently sitting in a huge 10gal pot. These pics were takin almost a week and a half ago. The plant has grown 5inches since these pictures..and is looking strong.. But why is it taking so long to flower?.. the plant took approx. 2and a half weeks to just show sex. I'm completely baffled here and have no idea what im doing wrong The temp is at 75 and doesnt get any higher than 80 with the lights on and nothing below 60 during lights-out. with the humidity ranging from 30-50% I'm using a 400wat HPS, which i forgot to mention. I took some pics this morning, here they are Click here to view them The strain is from nirvana, called "swiss cheese".. Why is it taking soo long for bud development? Im completely confused and have no idea what is going on. The ph is 6.5 , I give the plant water every 3-4days and feed ever other watering. I didnt post in the "plant problems" section because i dont see anything wrong with the plant physically, and is growing bushier/taller every day and looking fantastic, But im worried, have any of you experienced anything like this? A friend of mine has been flowering as long as i have and already has a decent size cola ontop of the plant.. I can't stop thinking about it, and i keep looking at it every hour asking myself why its taking soo long. If you are viewing this, please comment and let me know what you think. Cheers
Hey man, first off the plant looks very healthy! Some strains take a little longer to get final stage of flowering then kinda blow up at the end. I would research the strain i little bit, maybe from the seed vendor and see what they say. But seriously i think the plant looks really healthy and should yield pretty well. Just be patient....
The plant is 50% indica 50% sativa This plant is a cross breed between swiss miss and skunk #1. I've read on here that switching the light to 10/14 will speed up the process even faster.. Is this true or a waste of time Anyone else with experience willing to help me out?
wow 5 weeks of flowering and you have no flowers?? hhmm never of heard of that before but i havnt heard of lots of things so that dosent mean much.......Id be lil worryed though that dosnt sound normal but the plant does look nice and green.....i know its dump question but you did change the light to 12/12 right lol......im sure you did im just saying..lol
stick with 12 12 did you top or fim the plant at all? some times that can slow the flowering process down but it should pick up. is your room completly light proof?
yes its light proof..I boarded up the window with sheets of MDF, when i sit in my room with the lights out, i dont see anything infront of me. Of course, lol..wtf?

first month goes all to stretching out your plant and preflowering just a bit, id say give it another week, your plant will start to use all ofs its energy to producing bud now, i think theres something with your 12/12.
Leave her be, she is flowering now, and it looks like the stretch is over. Stop misting her, you don't want to mist out of the veg stage, it's just best not to get your lady parts wet. Give her another week, if she doesn't start to flower up, then you may have a problem. If you are 100% sure you have no light leaks, and you are also 100% sure that you aren't messing with her when she is sleeping, then there isn't a whole lot you can do but wait. This strain could take up to 12 weeks of flowering to finish, and I can pretty much guarantee it will take 10, that means she has 5 weeks to build buds and ripen up. Patience is the worst part about growing, but it's important to finishing with dank bud. Leave her be, she lives to please, but if you piss her off too much, she will let you know it.
Also, that pic with your stem and the tape measure, the base of your biggest cola will start right at the last node there, and be as long as that branch gets. Judging by the size of the stem, and the size of the stretch there, you will have one very big nice cola there. Leave her be, and let her do her thing.
Theres no light leaks, whatsoever the room is completely pitch black, so dark that when i put my hand infront of my face, i cant see it... The pics you threw up today look great!! Man, you just gotta have more patience! That girl looks amazing, and trust me in about another month she is going to be amazing looking. In fact, if you take good care of her, I can't wait to see the bud porn she provides. She is a sexy lady, and like I said, if you be nice to her, she will be nice to you. Let her enjoy her light, and enjoy her little place in the world. Check up on her every day, tell her how wonderful and beautiful she is (plants react to your stress levels, I'm a firm believer in that) and be positive with her and she will return you with dank buds. She already has some amazing bud sites, and she will turn out to be a beauty.
Yeah i guess your right.. everytime i feed her i always admire her beauty she's absolutely stunning...maybe i was just being an overly worried parent. Every morning i look at her , and i just have this huge smile on my face.. she smells good too, she has that pine/cheesy smell to her.
