i bought a 400w hps light ballast and hood. It seems the small crawlspace is getting too hot, is it possible to get a 250w bulb and hook it up into the hood and ballast? I dont wanna waste my time buying a lower wattage light if its not going to work. I am only growing one plant hydro.
You just need a better fan. They make special fans for cooling HID lights. Your hood should probably have a hookup for one.
sorry to say my friend.....that ballast will only ignite 400w bulbs. try calling the place you got your light from and see what the return policy is. i know htg will let you swap products within 2 weeks. maybe if ur tech saavy you cand find a DIY for igniting bulbs with a tweaked ballast... hope it works out for you either way
