Im about to harvest my crop, on saturday, im going to give them 24 hours of complete darkness. some one told me not to water them for 24 hours also what do u guys think?
The 24 hrs of darkness isnt necessary, but doesnt hurt anything. I always harvest just as the lights come on since the plants send the food down into the roots in the dark. As for not watering, there is nothing wrong with that either. It may speed up the drying process a little if the plant is thirsting anyway. I once flushed for a week and then continued to run the lights 12/12 for a few days with no water. I harvested when a top fell over from the weight and weakened stem due to lack of water.
After a few days of plain water, ill let the pot dry then pick at the end of that light cycle. Im not sure if there is any more benefits than the bud may dry quicker and less likely to develop mold. Hope it helps
