I got my 1000 watt HPS for my SOG, and im now saving up for a couple T5s for Vegging, Cloning, and Mothers. But i want to start some plants now without the T5's, will the HPS give the plants enough light for vegging?
yes but they might get streched out cause of the red spectrum of light the hps gives off better yet just use some daylight cfl's for a more rounded out spectrum

hahaha yea man a 1000 w would be fine. way more power being used then is ness but itll make some short fat plants. Leaves will be real big and healthy. I had 3 outta 40 begin flowering under 24/0 at 5 weeks. id just use 4 spiral cfls for the first week or two at least. when theyre that small a 1000 w is really a huge waste of energy
