Brand new to growing and this incredible community here at GC. I just finished up a small grow in a rubbermaid and surprisingly it did well. With that success I have been given permission to go a little bigger. Im only looking to grow a small amount for personal use and keep it somewhat stealthy. I live in an area that reaches 100+ deg in the summer months and intensifies in my garage so I plan to only grow for 7 months of the year. I have fell in love with perpetual grows and have started on my own perpetual (7 month) cabinet. It is small but I should have enough room for two flower chambers that I will scrog in. A veg chamber, seedling/clone chamber, germination area and a spot for electronics. Planning on starting with some cheap cfl and then upgrading to a better lighting system. The cabinet was purchased for $100 a lowes and has a measurement of 5.5 x 3.5 x 1.5 I used sound proofing material on the inside and then added a layer of Mylar. Still need to cut holes for ventilation, add fans scrubbers, lights and wire everything up. Hoping to be finished by next week. I will be starting some bohdi seeds at the end of August if this turns out as planned. Got my seeds from seed vault of Cali and I have to say they are highly recommended. Incredible company. Here is where I am at so far. Thanks for an awesome community to learn from.
Putting in some vent holes. I covered them back with Mylar when I finished. Plan of putting in two separate scrubbers and muffin fans for each flowering chamber today.
This grow is going to be simply amazing. Good shit bro, im subbed, cant wait to see how it works and what genetics you throw in there.
Thanks stoney_McStone the grow might take a few practice runs before it can be classified any where near amazing but I will put my time and patience into learning what it takes. I will post the seeds I plan on starting a bit. I'm really excited about it.
Here are few more pics after lights have been installed. I will be upgrading the lights but I had several CFL lying around and my budget is $400 so I will have to wait to go with a better lighting system. I will just have to make the best of this situation for now. I have A couple of pc fans wired in the veg and seed chambers. I have two muffin fans in the mail that I will be hooking to my scrubbers they will move 130cfm which is over kill for this. Each of the flowering chamber will have its own scrubber and exhaust. I have also hooked up my exhaust and light traps in the veg and seed chambers as well. I have them exhausting into the flowering chambers. A few more hours of work and this thing will be finished and under $400 With the doors shut and lights off it is completely light sealed and standing more than 5 feet from it you can't hear a sound. I know the muffin fans will be a bit noisier but it should be fine with a radio playing near it.
Is there going to be different sections in there? Like flower, veg, clone, seedling the possibility is endless. It looks like you have the room to make it happen though.
It is kind of hard to see but this is my Layout. You can see it in the picture but two flower chambers on the left, then on the right I will have in order from top to bottom Electric, germination chamber, seedling/clone chamber, then the bottom will be a vegetation chamber. Only enough room in the veg chamber for 3-4 plants and the flowering chambers only have enough room for four of the 3 gallon smart pots. Hopefully you can see what I'm talking about from the picture.
Here are my choices. I haven't decided which ones to start but I really like what I read about goji og. So I may get 5 of those seeds rolling. I should have my cabinet operational by tomorrow so I will start germination on Friday. Temps in my garage should start cooling off by the time they are ready to go into the flowering chamber.
Finished out my grow box tonight. Completely air sealed, sound proofed, light proofed and running great. Going to add more light to the flower chambers via a 4 way light splitter this will give me around 16 possible bulbs in each chamber. Now I'm going to wait until my outside temps reach 85deg before I plant next my crop. The heat reaches 105 in my garage during August so no point in wasting seeds. I'm going to name her the cricket because she is quite.
Thanks Buddy it was a fun build. I can't wait for the next stage and actually getting to grow something.
Germinating a few "white master kush" by green point seeds. I wanted to wait until cooler temps but I can't wait to get something going in the new cabinet. I am finishing out my three northern light auto in the new cab. About 3-4 more weeks on these. The heat has really slowed them down and kept them small. But it's all good.
