Some of you may have seen me around the last year . Some havent. Some wish i never did... Let's say I've turned over a new leaf (no pun intended ) going into this 2015 outdoor season. Located in beautiful, DRY, Northern California. I bring to you my 2nd season of cannabis cultivation. CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM is more then welcomed here. And so is any and all help. Please keep it respectful and have a good time. Now sit back and watch as I TRY to pull this season off, I'm aiming for the stars but taking it one node at a time ( pun intended) first things first. My mini hoop house. It was best for me in my situation to build a mini outdoor hoop house. It's 10 ft long and 5 ft tall. With the mild weather and the protection from it I figured it'd be the best way to help harden off the little ladies and keep them growing in an almost natural environment. Using a 4 bulb T5 for suplemental lighting. Set for 17 hours of lighting.
I was really bummed to find out I didn't have a pic of when I first got this bunch this last sunday...they have grown allot and look healthy. First one to the right is the Larry OG first left is Chemdawg 4 (ugly cut I hope to replace soon but will rife her out as long as she stays healthy) Back right is XJ-13 Back Left is Strawberry Caugh ( another I hope to replace)
All the cuts got a little burnt tip at transplant. Using Vermifire and a mix of it I will mention. But other then that all seems well.
I mixed the 1.5 cuft of Vermifire with .5 cu ft of the Black gold EWC and also not pictured is .5 cuft of perlite. If anyone is familiar with the vermifire then they know it's pretty fluffy stuff. The perlite added was to compensate for the EWC. To this 2.5 cu ft I added 1 1/2 kelp meal and 1 cup tomato tone. I then watered in with an EWC tea made at 1 cup per 5 gallon and let sit for 1 week. First i filled the 1 gallon pots with 1 inch of pebble stone. I then filled the gallon pots half way with the above mix and topped off with non amended vermifire and transplanted.
After about 3 days, I did a folliar spray and soil drench at 1/4 dosage of the Bioag Full Power Fulvic to help Kickstart them a bit. Good little read incase you were wondering....
FYI the black weed blocker was there to keep the undergrowth from caving in on my pots. It will all be eradicated tomorrow as I was out on work all week.
One piece of critique for your soil, that mix you posted above is good BUT you need more water retention, with the amounts of VermiFire, castings and perlite you added I would add another 1/2 -1 cu ft of coco coir.
Found my way on over. Expecting to see some pictures of comfrey in here, too. I'm really interested in seeing how it fares in NC, I'd recommend keeping it watered pretty well this first year. Good luck with this round, looking good so far.
good luck w/ the grow dude.. plants are looking nice. mix looks good too.. may wanna think about some neem meal, and some sort of shellfish meal.. and maybe some rock dust but it's your gig and i'm sure your plants are gonna dig whatever you do. cheers man..
