Hello and first off let me apologize, i'm starting this journal almost a month late but bear with me and i'll get all my pics up with as much descriptions as i can. I'll try to put them into groups but im new to this so i'm not really sure, anyway here we go i guess. Hopefully my internet won't be stupid while i try this.
Okay so first i decided to turn a normal little storage cabinet into my very own small piece of heaven lol. I had to take everything out, rearrange the shelves, cut holes for ventilation, and put filters where they needed to go. I originally wanted to have two chambers but i was having heat issues and i made the bottom too small this time, i'll fix it after this grow is done. For now i use the bottom for storage and will eventually use it as a drying room. Don't worry, pics of the grow will be put up next. I just want to show ya my journey from beginning to end. not sure why that posted sideways :/ lets hope the rest don't do that. My apologies. Moving on. sorry thats upside down. Its a 4 inch 171 cfm by the way. sigh, this is starting to annoy me, i dont know how to fix it Anyway the only thing not shown are some supplement lights and im using FF ocean forest. last pic of the cabinet. Now for the beginning of the grow. I know some ppl are going to tell me i should have put this in the grow room setup forums but this is a part of my grow as much as everything else. Anyway i'm gonna start fighting this phone to get the next pics put up right. Just be patient if you see this before they're up.
Okay so as mentioned these are all bagseed since its my first try and i don't have a CC so i really hope that from 6 i can get lucky and choose 2. I really hope these don't go sudeways or upside down. for the first week i just used plain water once a day just to keep the soil moist The day after that pic i started feeding them 1/2 FF nutes starting at the seedling week on the chart. Every other watering is plain pH'd water that i leave sitting out for at least 3 days. at this point i probably should have transplanted but i didn't realize how much growth was going on under the soil
I transplanted on feb 11th and made a big mistake, but learned from it. When i put my soil into my makeshift pot i kinda packed it in instead of leaving it loose, resulting in some obvious overwatering. After enough time for recovery from transplant, i went ahead and did some topping. okay so after a tough battle i've found a way to straighten out pics. I had to narrow the plants from 6 to 4 and then finally to 2. Lets hope i got luck and picked the right 2 lol. More pics are coming.
By the way my light schedule is 24/0. I transplanted to their final containers (3 gallon) on feb 16 The garden wire is being used to keep leaves off the soil. you can see sara is overwatered jennifer is doin pretty good sara's new tops jennifer's new tops
sara jennifer jennifer's on left my most recent pic (last night). This is jennifer, i went ahead and took her lst hooks off and am gonna start lettin her grow into her screen. Sara still needs some time and i need to get a flatter fan for inside my cabinet before i can fit both screens in anyway. Well now all the pics are caught up. Phew lol. I think im doin okay and i've learned so much already. Still got lots more to learn tho. Any questions, comments, advice, anything, etc are welcome and appreciated
Okay, nobody cares. But i do lol I watered my ladies (hopefully) tonight with plain pH'd water. I also went ahead and took a shot at trimming. Was very scared to do it and i pray i didnt go overboard. It was terrifying cuttin my babies. Pleeeeaaaasssse don't get too stressed girls. jennifer sara
Well there were some shoots gettin almost no light and i had tucked as much as i could resulting in lots of leaves just laying on the soil. I've been on the fence on whether i should do it or not and tonight the feeling just struck me. They could use the extra airflow anyway. I probably should have done just a little now, wait 3 or 4 days, then a little more. But i've heard they can survive with about 50% of their leaves and i tried to stay under that. Thanks for inquiring, was startin to think i stink or somethin with noone comin by lol.
Looking great in their bro! Subbd up CFL are great lights and you have already half proved it xD Peace
Gotcha, and I'm not arguing against what you did. Different people like to trim and others don't, both can yield great results. Plus your plants still seem to have a lot left on em. No stinking here, not until flower anyway Sometimes it just takes a little bit to get a thread going.
Thanks alot guys, glad to have ya along! I think cfl's just get a bad rep because they aren't suited for big grows. I think with the right training and care they'll do just fine by the way i went ahead and put the lst hooks back on because some branches wanted to go straight up and it was not where i wanted it. I'm learning so much from this and not just bout these plants but plant-life in general, i see now just how alive they are lol. Time to check on'em. I'll be back later ^_^
Wow they actually look better than ever lol especially sara! I finally have flat leaves! And im not sure at all but i think that i may have some signs of preflowers comin in, i'm sure i'll know in a couple days. Took a couple more pics (love takin pics of'em) and you can hardly even tell they were trimmed. Alot happened overnight it seems Cant wait til i get a flatter fan in there. I'd like to have them centered and whatnot
Went ahead and finished the pruning tonight, stressful lol. Also fed my girls their week 4 FF feeding. Guess that means the next watering is gonna be a flush.
Let me know how it goes! I run FF nutes and don't flush. I'm sure it's bitten me in the butt a little, but it's just how I run my grows. Even so I sometimes underfeed using FF because I give them low dosages.
Will do, it'll be my first flush so i hope it goes right lol i figure it cant hurt. Don't want any kinda salt buildup or anything. It'll be like givin my roots a shower and a fresh start. By the way GW is your avi one of those pics where if ya stare at it a certain way it shows an image? I've never been good at them lol
It's a good idea to get rid of excess salt buildup. I would probably be better off doing it that way, but like I said for me it hasn't been as necessary. I only need enough to get be by until the next grow, so usually it works out... usually haha. My avi does look like one of those lol. But I opened MS Paint, used the spray brush with different colors and went crazy. There's no real reason behind it
