Well I have a journal in another section of the forum but that was mostly just me asking questions. This will be my official journal. So here goes nothing. 10x5x6.5 grow tent. 6 inch intake as well as passive intake. Higher 6 inch exhaust creating the negative pressure I want. Two 1000 watt digital MH/HPS light fixtures dimmable to 50% and 75%. Two 4.5x4.5 scrog nets made of thick hemp line. 1 gallon starter pots with 7 gallon finishers. Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil with lots of added perlite. 9 Critical Kush and 1 unknown bag seed seedlings. Temp stays around 80 and Humidity around 45-50% PH 6.4 feeding water. Flora series (micro, grow, bloom) and calmag nutes that I have not yet introduced to them, and won't for at least 2 more weeks. Started germination approximately 6 days ago and have had sproutlings for approximately 2 days beside the unknown which has been out for about 6 days. I think that covers just about everything. If you have any questions or input I would love to hear it. I always try to keep open ears and an open mind. If I missed anything please let me know. And as far as everything goes how are they looking?
Got my other MH bulb in today. The new cool tubes they sent were not the right size for my fixtures and the light they sent is different and has a broken piece inside but it works and that's all i ask for. Got 5 girls under each light at 50% so that's 100 watts per plant. I'm guessing roughly 10,000 lumens each if I'm correct but not sure. NEED AN A/C badly. When I crank them up in a couple weeks heat may start becoming an issue. As for now with both on at 50% its staying around 80 with 46% humidity. Set up the timers for lights off for 4 hours starting tomorrow at noon. uhm overall looking good and healthy. Just keeping an eye on my soil to make sure I'm not over or under watering.
The electrical looks a bit sketchy, you will not want to ever run 2 1,000w 100% on one 15 amp circuit. You might want to pull a power cable to a sub panel like this. This if for my grow room. I ran #4-3 cable off a 60 amp breaker to the sub panel with 20 amp breakers. 60 amp breaker was $25,Power cable was $7 a foot, the box was $14 and 20 amp breakers were $6 Electrical is easy stuff. It pays to do it safe.
I added a 30 amp breaker and am running both lights and a couple inlines on it. I ran them both 100% for about 4 hours when I first set it up to make sure everything was going to be alright. For right now i'm just running 50% on both. My panel box is already inside the grow room luckily enough for me. Made it easy to run the cord out the bottom of it haha.
Thanks for the love. I'm out of town right now so I don't know how they're doing today but I'll see them late tonight or tomorrow sometime. Haven't watered in a couple days so hopefully they are still a lil wet!
Welcome welcome glad to have you. Little pic update. Will be doing this often probably to have a little time lapse thing going. Bigger one is the unknown. A little deformed but doesn't bother me a bit. Most likely use it for training and scrap it later or give to a buddy to finish. And the second is my biggest critical. 68 degrees when I got home :/ warming things up a little now. Lights aren't making enough heat to warm the place yet. I was ready to turn the heat on anyways! z
You are also being wasteful at this point on your electrical. Just give em 100 watts of cfl at this point. Then step it up as they go. MUCHO PROPS though. You are setup for good things in your future.
Oh they will be. You souldn't have to water more than every week with plants that size. Most peple grow seedlings in small containers at first to benefit root growth. A wet dry cycle brings more for the roots than wet most the time. They want oxygen too. Which is one of the things a porous soil rich in perlite and other airy absorbant substances helps with.
Not trying to be wasteful just trying to give them all the light I can. And I was only running 500 watts for the first 4 or 5 days and switched either yesterday or the day before to the two 500's. I was just very hesitant to use CFL's. I used them my entire grow last run before I got this amazing hookup on all this better stuff. I guess I'm a little impatient in a sense as well. I'm not sure if I said it in this thread or not but I'm kind of on a deadline. Not really but I would like to return my funders funds as soon as I can so that I can slow things down.
Getting the light even closer. I can touch the glass and it's cool. Keeping them as close as possible to make the bushes I want. Day 5
And I don't know if it's just me but they look a bit yellow. They don't look unhealthy but have an odd color. Anyone?
Pots kind of light this morning. Water em in a little less than 5 hours. Not much new about it. Still chuggin along. I wanted to top them once and create a 4 way on each to start filling up the screen. My question is about transplanting though. When should I do that? They have a pretty good amount of room in them still. I was thinking maybe a week after topping? Then starting the screen.
