I'm about to make a Veg and a Flower light. What I'll be using is the Cree 3590 3000k for Flower and 5000k for Veg. I have already Purchased some great Lights from Mars Hydro but I need to know if it's better to build or buy. Already received 8 of out my 12 COB's. I also ordered 10 Mean Well drivers a 700ma for efficiency. Ordered heat sinks form Heatsinksusa.com. I still have to order some fans and drivers for the fans and wait for everything to get here.
Hey, I'm no expert but i think you already know the answer to your questions You've bought possibly the best LED's on the market at present. Those Cree COB's are mighty powerful. And Meanwell are some of the best driver's too. I hope you know what you're doing with the electronics though!
Sorry, i think the answer is.. If you have enough knowledge to build your own safely then DIY Cree cobs are the way to go. But if you have loads of money and less electronic skills then buy Area51, AdvancedLED, ApacheTech or PlantPhotonics. Goodluck!
Yes I do, you must not have skills for that comment. The Mars 2 I have kicks fucking ass View attachment 1645425 View attachment 1645424 The one I'm gonna build will be even better.
Btw I received most of my supplies today and Monday I should have my heat sinks and the rest of my CXA3590's Fucking fans are huge
I'm surprised this hasn't been a topic around these parts yet, I'm so interested to see what you find. DIY is always on the mind...
I wouldn't mind doing something like this I just don't feel comfortable enough with it I don't want to leave and then come back to a burned down house 😢 but very interested none the less.
Yesterday I received my last 4 CXA3590's all I'm waiting for is my heat sinks and these So I don't have to use Thermal adhesive just in case I want to change the COB's
I was going to post this earlier. This guy just posted a vid, "tech talk" going thru all his DIY and Apache LED's. Dude knows his shit. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkuwpcjAkAGLLqNJi6MOEOw
