baking cookies. and need some advice

  1. hello so I wanna bake some special 420 cookies for the first time im thinking just add like one gran of good shit to a slice of frozen cookie batter and wrap it loosely in tin foil and cook normaly?

    does this sound like a good idea my cousin did it before but she said that they weren't that strong

  4. THC needs a type of fat to stick two. thats why we make cannabutter. im not sure it wuld work if you just sprinkle a few grams into premade cookie dough.
     
  5. it worked well when my cousin did it she got so high. but I'm going to wrap it in tin foil just so nothing goes to waste if that's possiable
     
  6. The only way I see this working is if you put... peanut butter or nutella between two coookies, making a cookie sandwich. It'll taste like pure, 100% shit, but try it out.
     
  7. I think it'd work.. Cause you think about the premade cookie dough when it's cold, once it warms up in the oven it gets all oily. Just keep the temp down to like 280 or so, and cook longer. This'll keep the thc from vaporizing.
     
  8. Not sure if it would work as good as cannbutter but you should add extra butter to the batter just in case.
     
  9. thanks guys. im just gonna keep the temp low. spread butter where im sprinkling the bud and cover it us with some more cookie mix. and wrap it in tin foil and toss it in the oven. and do u mean 280C or F. I'm canadian

    I'm about to 'demystify' a few things, and all with a few simple posts that ANYONE can find, just by using the search feature here at GC. :)

    First, a question from a recent thread, and a response....

    Now, some information shared again just earlier today, on 1) activation, and 2) bioavailability, or the absorption of active cannabinoids! :smoke:


    Without bothering with either of these, you are wasting MULTIPLE DOSES, per one single, mediocre, barely-functional dose! :eek:

    In short....


    Consider that it takes up to several hours to make a quality oil or butter... and that's when your 'edible solvent' is PURE and isn't contaminated with water, egg, flour and other ingredients.

    The water-butters of the old days used to take 15 - 24 hours to finish!


    Whatever time you have, you are best off using a pure, edible solvent, if you wish to break down and absorb your cannabis glandular material. Otherwise, the vast majority of your potency goes 'in one end, and out the other', without absorption. :(


    The less time you have, the more important it is, that you're activating first and working with a pure edible solvent...

    A pure edible solvent will be capable of accomplishing more, in a much shorter period of time, than a solvent that is contaminated with water and flour!


    It's not just a matter of stripping potency from the inert plant matter, which raw herb in a cookie or even a fire-cracker hardly happens. The time you spend on your oil, is time, heat and 'solvent ability' that our bodies simply do not have and can not provide, before we 'evacuate' the potency.

    To absorb more than just a tiny fraction of your cannabinoids, and to feel the effects as quickly and efficiently as possible, your glandular material needs to be broken down and coated by your solvent, forming a proper solution! :hello:

    And again, that isn't how edibles are made! Not if you want them to work, anyway. :p


    We make canna butter and oil not just to strip the potency from the plant matter, but because we need to create a solution containing our cannabinoids in a bioavailable oil, in order to actually absorb more than a teeny tiny fraction of that potency. Any less is a huge waste of potency, and often may or may not even work, regardless how much herb you use!




    The less time you have, the more important a pure oil source or solvent is.

    It will accomplish much more (in terms of breaking down that glandular material) in a shorter period of time, than cookie dough with a little extra butter...
    And the more time and privacy you have, the less sense it makes to just jam bud into a cookie, and hope for the best! :p

    Making an edible poorly is a lose-lose scenario no matter how you look at it!





    Consider that firecrackers are 'worst-case-scenario' edibles, and they require using several times the amount of material normally needed to achieve the desired effect, because you're absorbing only a fraction of the potency. Meaning you're sacrificing a ton of herb, several solid, longer-lasting doses worth, just for the stealth and ease of the process.

    A cookie, is even worse.


    The temp and time while baking a cookie isn't NEARLY enough, especially in such a poor solvent, even with extra butter. The moisture content prevents the temperature within the cookie from increasing beyond a certain point, regardless of the temperature of your oven. Most non-canna cookies come out at only 170 - 180 f.
    You'd have to destroy the cookie, making it a nasty, dry mess, long before your canna would even be close to being ready for consumption.

    Once more; however much or little time you have to work with, it is best spent, using a pure oil source with your herb THEN making your cookie, or a single, simple brownie in a muffin tray.

    Heck, take your finished oil, plus a small spoon each of powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and a few drops of milk or cream, and voila: you have an instant canna truffle, with no baking required! It's as easy as that!
