1st grow. Candy Kush Auto (Og Kush x Trainwreck) Indica.

11 litre pot, canna coco + potting compost. Vitalink coir veg & bloom for feed + Magnesium Sulphate (epsom salts).

I am growing inside a 160cm high tent (approx) with an industrial fan under a 250watt hps.
Will keep an ongoing journal as often as I can, with pics etc.
I have attached some pictures from today (day 3 after sprouting) ....

    Thanks for reading!!

  2. It is now day 4 after sprouting and everything is going well. My only concern is that 1 cotyledon is much bigger than the other. Should I be worried about this?

I have also just bought a thermometer and reading 29 Celcius (84.2 fahrenheit)

Here are some pictures that I have taken this morning. Sorry they are a bit blurry, this camera doesnt like close up shots. When the plant gets bigger the pictures should be more clear.

Hope to see some comments in the near future from you all!!

    Thanks for reading.

  3. Looks just fine! Don't worry about every little speck and spot. You'll drive yourself crazy and kill your plant trying to "treat" it! As far as your leaves are concerned, I have had many that start with two different sized cotyledons and they always finish fine!

  4. Okay thanks for the advice. I'll try to back off and leave her be =)

I'll keep the thread updated for you to see. 65 days and I'll be cropping!!!

Sorry I haven't posted in the past few days. As you already know, the forums went down. I have taken pictures from the past 3 days and have had a lot of progress. I have purchased a tent and already transplanted my baby into an 11 litre pot. I have mixed compost and canna coco pro. I did it in 2 handfuls at a time (6x canna coco and 4x compost and gave it a good mix. I haven't added any nutes yet, just leaving her be for the time being. I am on a 20 hour on and 4 hour off light cycle but will be changing to 18/6 when my timer has arrived. I have just purchased a humidity reader which has yet to arrive. You could say I'm getting a bit carried away but if your gonna do it, do it properly!!!! Any advice is welcomed as this is my 1st grow. I've had a problem with my bottom true leaves, they are sort of pointing up and cupping (curling up at the edge). They are however, very green and the stem is looking very healthy.

Here are some more pictures from the past few days. Its been about a week since sprouting. All looking good, just one concern are my bottom set of true leaves are pointing vertically up and have curled up at the edges...they kinda look like devil horns. i will attach pictures.

  8. I'm interested in Candy Kush, so I'll be tagging along for this one.

As for your leaf curling, I would check to see what your humidity is for one. I don't believe you mentioned a hydrometer, which really is a must.

What are your temps during lights on?

  9. My temp is around 84 Fahrenheit. I don't really know what a hydrometer does but i'll buy one if its going to help. I think the problem is my humidity and the fact that its too low and so the air is quite dry. I'm misting the leaves occasionally to keep them moist. What else can I do to get the humidity up a bit?

  10. A Hydrometer measures the humidity in the air, so it will help you get your humidity to where you need it.

As for raising your humidity, a small container of water in the grow area will slowly evaporate and put a little more humidity in the air. You can also get a humidifier if it is in your budget.

Get the Hydrometer first though. Once you know your humidity, go from there.

ahh I see, I have already ordered a humidity reader which is yet to come. I always have bottles of carbonated water opened inside the tent as I've been told that its good to give your plant a good blast of Carbon Dioxide. Anyway I think the 1st set of true leaves are going to shrivel up and die due from heat stress in the 1st few days as i was growing in a PC tower and using a HPS. Are my temps okay at 84-85 farenheit, or is this slightly too high? Got some pics too from this morning for you all to check out!!

I don't understand why the pics are showing up so big when you click them, they didn't before. I think they are still doing some work on the forums, hopefully they will have corrected the issue soon.

  12. ..another question, what is optimum humidity reading? Just for when it arrives.

  14. I would aim for temps from about 77 - 79 from what I've read. You can get into the mid 80's like you are now, but it affects plant growth from what I've read. Some strains are better at handling heat and stress in general. I'm not sure which ones because I'm still learning.

As for humidity. My rule of thumb is >50% veg <50% flower. For my own flowering tent, I like it <40$, since mold can develop if you're not careful. Again, depends on strain, and they each react differently.

  15. Well I'm back with plenty of pics!! She's growing so quickly its scary, however some of the leaves are cupping still, but i think this is due to my humidity. Its at like 30% but I keep boiling the kettle and leaving open dishes of water in the tent and it shoots up to about 70% and slowly falls back down again. I'm gonna have to keep on doing this until I purchase a humidifier.

I have just gave her the 1st dose of nutes yesterday (1/4ml chem mixed into ltr of water). I'm using Vitalink veg for the time being and going to start on bloom feed around week 7 when I'm happy with her height etc. I cannot stress enough that this is my 1st grow so any advice is welcomed with open arms.

Shes starting to give off a nice mild weed aroma, If i put my nose right to her it sort of smells a bit like blueberries. Nice nonetheless!

Anyway, here's the pics as promised. Enjoy! (She had just been fed which is why the leaves are flopping slightly, I've been told this is normal)

  16. Looks good. That humidifier will make your life a lot easier once you get it. Not much else to say but "hurry up and wait".

  17. Okay, will do. I'll get one cheap online somewhere, and quick!

    Thanks

Dude, those are coming on really well. You have had a really good amount of growth in the last two weeks. One of the issues that can happen with autos is that they go into shock when they are transplanted but it looks like yours didn't even bat an eyelid! What sort of height are these at and how far from the light source as they seem to be putting on quite a lot of vertical height?
good looking grow there man, rep+

edit - at least I would if I could work out where the rep+ button is now!

  19. Hey man beautiful grow how old is your plant?

    Easy now!!!

Thanks for the response and the +rep!! It's been 21 days since sprout and shes currently standing at 24.5 inches tall and still growing. The pistils are showing but I've just given her a dose of Vitalink Coir Veg yesterday (3ml in 1ltr of water) and I've watered again today and will do every day for a week and then start using Bloom feed. This will be week 4 from sprout.
The light currently stands about 17 inches from the top of the plant and 41.5 inches away from the surface of the soil. Its 250 watt HPS so gives off a lot of heat and I'm pushing the boundaries anyway! I have a nice thick stem, so the height isn't an issue thankfully. This is due to my fan blowing directly onto it since day 1.

Anyway, here are a few pics that I have just taken a few minutes ago, so you can see what I see. She looks gooooooood :) There are a few leaves that are curling on top but I think thats due to heat, I'm off to get another fan today to get the temperature down a little.
