Please, throw up a milk showing the Alex K downstem.

EDIT: Flammz, mine is perfect. Four large holes in the center with 11 or 12 smaller ones ringed around; great airflow and a very even burn, I'll do an over bowl shot on a milk sometime soon.

15 slits with what looks like 3 grids each. 45 total diffy points and the big hole underneath the circ. Does anyone think it would function better if it didn't have that huge hole? Seems like it would diffuse better if the smoke was only allowed to be passed through the grids. Hmm..

    ^^^EDIT: Fuckin' epic post Haer.

Here's a new showerhead tube I should have by monday...

  4. It would, but to not have the hole would mean that fallen ash would collect there.

  5. Nice, one less slit than the BC.
Like dirt said, it'd prob diffuse and stack better since it would ONLY be allowed to use small holes but trash would build up/collect/potential clog.

  6. Here you go. I know the milk shot isent very good but takeing a pic with my phone with one hand while holding the Roor was kinda hard. Got the downstem from 42 degrees in Ann Arbor just like everything i own

    Attached Files:

  7. Yeah and the BC's cheaper -_______-
    No complaints tho.

In order to give this thread more substance, I will do reviews on my glass and invite you all to do the same! This will prevent it from becoming just a picture/video thread and give it some purpose! So, please, review your pieces!

This is my review of EFS' double gridded donut perc, a fantastic piece that I've been enjoying heavily in my time with it!

    The Tube
Function: This tube has an awesome perc, unique to EFS, and that is the donut. Two grids on 12 slits makes 36 points of diffusion, which makes for a ridiculously smooth hit. 18mm joint stemless construction for unrestricted airflow really lets this thing stack; the perc moves water effortlessly. For comparison, I'd say it's reminiscent of a stemline, but with a bit more "chug." The only downside is that the diffusion does kill some flavor, but that's just a tradeoff with the gridding. I give it a 9.5/10 for function.

Form: EFS is meticulous. Every weld is seamless. The transition from can to neck is smooth and very natural looking. Add to that the very defined colorwork on the bottom, and this thing is impeccable. Now, while defined, EFS's color work tends to be a little monotonous (though incredible!); I'd love to see him experiment with more styles because he obviously has done what he is doing now. Also, a very comfortable bent neck really adds to the experience, it's at a very good level for off-the-table toking. 10/10, I have nothing bad to say here, aside from the exploration in color.

Cost: Incredible. Worth every penny and more. With an influx of work and popularity, I'm afraid his prices will go up soon, so snag them while you can. I wont post what I got it for here, just because I wouldn't want to give out that info, but PM me if you want to know what I paid. Prices may change, that's up to him. Even if I tell you, we might get different deals, you might even pay less, so there's not much reason for me to broadcast it. 10 for 10.

    The Company
As far as I know, EFS is a one man operation, and is run incredibly well. He shipped fast, responded to communication quickly, and was flexible within reason as far as pricing goes. Absolutely nothing bad to say here, a dream to work with. 10/10

So, overall, EFS double gridded donut gets an essential 10 for 10.

Highly recommend. I may very well have to pick up a single gridded donut to showerhead...or double... I just don't know cause they're all great!

Disk Screen Slide by Drew, head blower at DWB

Function: This style of built in screen is Drew's signature style, the most similar popular style would be disk diffused. The amount of flow these slides have is incredible, adds essentially no drag, even with a packed bowl (unless you pack it too tight obv). Because of the many tiny holes, almost no ash gets pulled through keeping your water clean and you can also grind your herb pretty much as fine as you want with no green falling through. The biggest con is that they CAN clog easy, but I don't let mine get to that point so no worries; they also can have too much flow and suck the flame out of your wick or lighter which can be annoying but they provide a very nice and even burn.
Drew also makes a slightly different variation with fewer holes that are larger in diameter, I can't imagine them functioning too differently, maybe more herb or ash falling through. 9.8/10

Form: The color work is beautiful. My double layered b&w over rainbow is the older of the two and it shows slightly in Drew's linework. The disk in the rainbow one is also lower, causing it to be verrry deep, which isn't much of an issue, just makes it a little harder to clean. The disk in the evil rasta style slide is new, has cleaner holes and a higher up disk, made perfectly for a snap. 10/10 on the new slide, 9.3/10 on the rainbow.

Price: Drew is very reasonable and is willing to work within a customer's budget, whenever possible. See everything Dirt said about EFS. 10/10 for me, worth every penny and then some.

Company: Drew caught some flack when he first came to the forums, he has admitted he was in over his head. He is still working on a customs list started way back when, but he is MUCH more organized now. He has several trustworthy employees and a few up and coming talented shopmates (Freedom Rock and Riz) in addition to his longtime glassblowing buddy, Boston who also does sick stuff. 10/10 in my experience, Drew was quick to respond to e-mails and everything was shipped in a timely manner given the circumstances and it was all packaged greatly, layers of bubble wrap and loooots of packing peanuts.
DWB is still growing in popularity, still not very well known, similar to EFS, so their prices are currently great but will only increase IN ADDITION TO their quality/uniqueness of work are sure to only increase. Drew's main goal in glassblowing is to please people and he certainly hits the mark.

  11. Damn some really nice pieces! love the color scheme flamm and Izz. Love those pieces.. freakin look amazing.

I actually got an EFS tube about 2 weeks ago. Sent payment on the 10th and got the tube by the 15th! An awesome dude to work with and really amazing work. Also very reasonable with pricing.

The double gridded donut is probably the best perc I've hit so far... I kinda like it better than the pillar! Super nice thick quality on the tube and perfect size for an awesome grip. Love the super clean smooth hits. The craftsmanship on the tube is just amazing and dirtridge pretty much covered everything, EFS is just amazing.

    Enjoy some milks...

I also dig your slide, colors look similar to mine, know who made it?

I'm jealous of your tube, got a pic of the work on the bottom? :smoke:

  13. [quote name='"dirtridge"']We've got a heady thread, and that has been quite a rewarding source of eye candy, but I feel that something is missing. There are a lot of impressive pieces that really don't belong there, and they deserve a place to be recognized, regardless of brand name!
EDIT: In order to give this thread more substance, I will do reviews on my glass and invite you all to do the same! This will prevent it from becoming just a picture/video thread and give it some purpose! So, please, review your pieces!
Need to specify before it goes on too long, by "High-End," I mean on the cutting edge of scientific glass. Artists and companies who strive for excellence and progress. Not that your Illy's and roors aren't great, they just aren't what needs attention. Thanks for reading this.
    So, general guidelines:
    1. Keep it high-end! This is the most important rule! It need not be heady, but that is welcome as well. An off topic thread is a waste of space, and I'd like to see this turn into a very active resource for the best of the best in the functional glass game. To do this, discuss high-end glass: your favorite scientific artists (established like SG or burgeoning like EFS), their projects, share pictures, videos, blog posts, whatever! Just, whatever you do, keep it on topic. Idle chit-chat does not belong here.
    Mods do not like it
And I don't want to make their job ridiculously difficult.
    2. If you see something that doesn't belong, do not respond, report.
    3. If you are unsure of whether or not your piece is, "High-End," don't post it. I'm not being mean, but this is not the place to figure that out.

And last, keep on enjoying your glass.

So, please keep this on topic, if it gets out of hand I will ask for it to be closed....that's if it even picks up.

Start posting your high end stuff!

EDIT: Name edited to clear confusion. Keep it on topic.

Awsome stuff :) loving the Nice milks n beautiful glass.. do u mind if I ask what's the name of that song u put on the first YouTube vid Link :cheers

  14. I'm going to guess that it is 10 ft. ganja plants and weed. Can't remember the artist. It was a random song pulled from youtube.

EDIT: Also, Blazed, sick tube! Got anymore you want to put up?

  15. hahah thanks man, it's an Extreme Q, just got it a few weeks ago.
not too sure on the slide though.. loved the colors and had to get it.

The work on the bottom is interesting... I swear it changes colors... in the pictures you can see a whole bunch of different colors, but when it's sitting at my desk and I look at it in real life, it's red and blue. Anyways I'm bad at describing.. here are some pics:

  16. My second Syn Mini Showerhead with splashguard. I absolutely love this piece. It provides extremely smooth hits while diffusing the fuck out of my smoke, even with dirty water. Furthermore, the splash guard diffuses the smoke splitting the directions up. Excuse the low quality, but boy do these bubbles go.
