I wasn't so much pissed that they were released, as that it wasn't all drug offenders. All drug laws are shit in this country, and if you do it for one drug (especially one that kills people), you have to do it for all drug offenders.

The problem for us pot smokers is that cocaine is a schedule 2 drug and can be prescribed, while pot is a schedule 1 drug and is therefore classified as worse for you than pot. Stupid? Yes!
Lets throw some more scheduling bullshit into the spotlight: GHB, which exists in every cell in the human body, is schedule 1. Well, unless you by it from big Pharma in the form of sodium oxybate or Zyrem (same thing as GHB). Then it's schedule 2 and you can get it in script form for a 3000%+ price markup. DMT, which is produced in the human brain, is also schedule 1, making every human body, on average, 180 - 220lbs of "carrier substance". That would be one hell of a manufacture charge if the law was taken literally. Marinol is schedule 2, despite having clinical record of causing death. Marinol has documented clinical evidence physical dependence attributed to it, the same as marijuana. Marijuana, having no direct deaths attributed to it and the same level of physical dependence as Marinol, is still schedule 1. Many amphetamines are schedule 1, some are schedule 2 if they have Pharma's support, but all have devastating effects on the human body and brain. We turn a blind eye to these facts when we drug our kids up on adderall, which is a pure amphetamine salt blend, and then send them to school. Scheduling is a political tool completely and, as such, is rife with contradictions, flawed morality and an overabundance of hypocracy.
