Hallunications?

  1. Okay, a few know me and my story here already so I wont go all the way into it again. For the many who dont though, I grow but dont smoke. I dont sell it either...I give it away...true talk. I got into growing simply because I wanted to see if I could and I also dont like the idea of my friends and family who can smoke, getting stuff from sources who have low standards. I cant smoke for personal reasons but my pleasure is seeing my stuff from start to finish and seeing people enjoy it.

I have a question though. A girl I recently harvest from outdoors has been getting some reviews that I have never heard before. Two people have come back to me saying that when they smoked, they got a really good high and also hallucinated:confused:. Is that a common side effect of weed? I dont know what the strain is. It was grown from some bag seed and I had to harvest her at 7 weeks because I was having severe caterpillar issues...I didnt add anything so she was 100% natural weed plant...has anyone ever had hallucinations from smoking weed?

  2. Different people get different highs from different drugs. I heard something like there was a small percentage of people who actually hallucinate under the influence of herb. Were they regulars?

  3. Yeah, one person is someone who smokes daily and the other was someone who probably smokes a few times a week. The one who does the daily thing said that she felt as if she was sleeping but knew that she was wide awake, lol!

  4. I've seen a few people trip out on herb like smokey in the pigeon coupe lol.. I had one guy I smoked with swear up and down that I laced it with acid lmao.. Some bud just effects certain people differently I guess.. There's some strains you really shouldn't smoke if u have a low tolerance..

  5. I guess that girl was one of those strains...I dont know what the heck she is, which sucks because Im really interested to know. I got two of her daughter in flower right now. I guess I will get to what happens with them once they are harvested.

  6. the character smokey didnt just smoke weed to do that, that joint was dipped in "angel dust." AKA: "wet", Formaldehyde or Embalming Fluid. you will trip on that, but dont waste a joint... use a cigarette.

p.s. dont ACTUALLY do that though, that will also kill you.

  7. I have had visuals from smoking good buds before. True talk brother.

  8. I know brotha it was just a reference to the type of trip I've seen people experience while high..

  9. I wonder if these people truly understand the term hallucinate. To me it probably means something different but I came out of a childhood filled with LSD and even then I only saw vivid lucid visual hallucinations once or twice. Of course it is my brain chemistry compared to theirs and mine is wired in a way that protects me from insanity so I can push myself very very far. They probably are just different. I would still doubt they saw things even if they did hear and imagine things.

  10. I understand what you are saying...I think...still though, the term "hallucination" can be loosely defined as a false or distorted sense that appears to be real. The perception is created by the mind and can be experienced with any of the senses to include taste and smell.

So yes, hallucinations can vary by the way each individual mind is wired. Some might think they see an apple pie thats not really there while another person might think that they smell a pie that is not there...even still someone else might think that they are tasting apple pie and in reality could be sitting there eating a shoe sole (that person would have to really, really f'ed up I guess:D). So its almost impossible to say wether or not they were actually hallucinating unless you were actually there while it was happening and also knew them well enough to judge if they were BS'ing or not. interesting debate here:).

  11. I understand what you are saying and agree. However I still question what actually occurred for those people in the end it might be that I just have a more stable perception of the physical world around me than a lot of people and discount a lot of what people say they have seen or heard because my experience in life has taught me that most people do not have a clue what is going on around them including their own lives. Thankfully you do not appear to be one of those people.

It may be impossible to judge this but then we start getting into the idea of chemical interaction and the individual brain chemistry which in the end is really what is causing any hallucination since we are a chemical based system. There is a whole following in the psychiatric community about the actual validity of things like schizophrenia and hallucinations. I am up in the air myself because I have two friends with mental illness and whether self cause or not they are not right in the head and never will be again. I doubt very much that the one is a schizo patient but he is still not right or what we define as a "normal" processing psyche.

I am not saying they are not seeing or hearing what they said they are just asking questions here to see if I can determine the facts. I have my doubts though. I guess the more "weak" minded someone is the more susceptible they are to that kind of brain action. I don't know those people though so I cannot make that determination.

  12. Thanks for your response on this subject. Please dont feel as if you are offending or anything along those lines. I rather enjoy a good conversation involving different perspectives.

I have family members that also go through bouts of depression that are attributed to heavy drug use back in the 70s...I dont think that it was ever proved as a link but I do remember them being rather "out there" way back when they would get high...

I have one family member that swore that she saw a demon standing in the door way to her room while high once...she was supposedly doing what we used to call "Angel Dust".

I just find it interesting that MJ could have any hallucinognic(sp?) effect. There is also a documentary that I watched on netflix about MJ use. I forget what its called but there was a part where a girl was filmed while high and she was said to be having mild hallucinations that gave way to fatigue...so yeah, could just be a question of what we consider to be a hallucination.

Marijuana definitely gives me a psychedelic effect, but it is much much more mild than the more potent entheogens. It's more like sensual trickery, but fun nonetheless. :smoke: And I'm never too wasted to not know what's real and what isn't while stoned.. Often times reality gets a cartoonish look to it for me.

btw, I have a fairly low tolerance..

  14. LOL, aint nothing wrong with that! Takes less to do more...making your stash go a longer way:D.

  15. When I smoke it's definitely more cerebral.

I like to lay on the couch and let my mind race with various thoughts, Mary helps my already vivid imagination come to life in a different way.

Definitely not hallucinating, sensual trickery is the perfect description.

  16. I've sat down with my computational algorithims homework, smoked a bit of pot. Ya know? Just enough to get a mild buzz going. But I sit and I look at the homework, and I put what I think on paper. Sometimes What ends up on the paper makes shit for sense but sometimes something outrageously elegant winds up being scrolled.

It makes me more creative because pot brings out the water effect in me.
Water effect meaning whatever takes the least amount of work to meet the best aspects of a solution.

    Fuck I'm high.:smoke:

  17. Hmm. this sounds much like the SSH I grew. If you aren't used to the Haze's, take it simple at first. One hit then wait. I think Jack Herer is much the same.
Everybody has different chemistry and reactions.

  18. I agree....certain strains give me a light trip (i.e.: LSD from Barney's Farm). I've never tripped on anything besides mushrooms and even then, I cant describe any of the effects as actual "hallucinations". From the books I've read on Ayahuasca and DMT, those trips include out-of-body experiences, and even the users of those drugs don't report their effects as being hallucinations, but as being "more real than reality".

Most of the trippy effects I get from cannabis are usually 3-D type effects from colorful images (pictures and movies/tv) or one that I frequently get is from moving my head from side to side and my vision lags behind slightly.

  19. just ran across this thread, maybe they need a put a "talk some philosophy after smokin a J" section in here. That would be fun
