Just reading the wiki page on lumens, I seen no indication that the type of light source makes a difference. I see the OP's point. 50 lumens from an HPS is just a good as 50 from a CFL. At least, as far as light intensity. I don't know how wavelength affects growth. Unless someone else can shine more light on this?
